Family-Friendly Halloween at
Portland Farmers Market Great Pumpkin Event

October 29, 2011, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Portland State University Park Blocks
More info: www.portlandfarmersmarket.org

Join us at the PSU Market for our thirteenth annual Halloween harvest celebration featuring a pumpkin carving contest beginning at 9:00am and running until 12:00pm (or until we run out of pumpkins). Prizes will be awarded at 12:30pm for best adult carving and best child carving (13 and under). Pumpkins must be carved on-site in order to be eligible.

Parents, bring your ghosts and goblins to the Information Booth at noon for a children's costume parade around the market. Goodie bags are provided for all parade participants! While your at it, pick up a self-guided market scavenger hunt, available at the information booth & carving contest location.

Thank you to the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, who not only sponsors the Great Pumpkin Event this year but will be on hand teaching marketgoers all about the launch of the new curbside food composting service, which begins city-wide the week of October 31.

Stop by their “Include the Food” booth to learn more and to play games, win fabulous prizes and meet ¬Å“Blaze,¬Â the mascot of the Portland Trail Blazers. For more details on food composting, please visit www.portlandcomposts.com.
