A TRIBUTE TO PINK FLOYD
“Capturing what made Pink Floyd iconic is a hard thing to do, and Pigs on the Wing come as close as anyone we’ve heard. That looming mystique, that inscrutable grandiosity……Those qualities are alive and well with Pigs on the Wing.” – Adam McKinney, OLY ARTS 5/10/17

Portland, Oregon based Pink Floyd tribute Pigs on the Wing is pleased to announce their 2018 production, ‘Finding the Dark Side of the Moon’ – a 2 set retrospective live experience culminating in a full performance of Pink Floyd’s 1973 concept album The Dark Side of the Moon.

Tracing its roots to a one-off performance in Portland in 2006, Pigs on the Wing has steadily developed a reputation for delivering a high quality, high energy take on Pink Floyd’s music steeped in the NW’s own rich musical heritage. All of the members of the band are seasoned veterans of the original rock scene and balance a decidedly un-tribute like attitude toward the music with a deep understanding of the precision and importance of Pink Floyd in many fans’ lives. The result is a sound and experience both refreshing in delivery and yet true to the original – something the band believes sets it apart from other Pink Floyd tributes.

Rare Monk is a Portland, OR based indie rock band. They just released their debut full-length album, “A Future” this summer featuring 10 brand new songs recorded in Portland, OR with Skyler Norwood (Blind Pilot, Horsefeathers, Priory) at Miracle Lake Studios.

In 2015, Rare Monk released their apocalyptic-tinged self-titled EP, produced by Tom McFall (Weezer, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.). Single’s “Warning Pulse” and “California (Will Burn)” received considerable attention form the blogosphere, college radio, and streaming services such as Spotify. This was the follow-up to 2014’s widely lauded 7-inch “Splice/Sleep Attack”. The boutique record label, B3SCI Records, released both EPs.
