The summer is winding down so the Oregon Zoo has decided to throw a festival.
Families can enjoy a Wildlife Live! meet and greet, popular local food carts, live bands, lawn games and kids craft activities. And even the Unipiper will be roaming around all afternoon!
Guests who are 21+ can purchase a souvenir glass with four drink tickets that can be used for four 7-ounce beer samples (or two 7-ounce wine samples) for $15.

The event is free with zoo admission and the festivities will happen between 2 and 7 p.m. (Grounds will be open till 8 p.m.). Train and carousel rides cost extra.
Parking costs $2/hour or $8/day and lots tend to fill up quickly, so the zoo encourages visitors to take public transport: Take MAX Light Rail to the Washington Park stop or a TriMet bus. Call 503-238-RIDE (7433) or visit trimet.org for fare and route information. Visitors who ride MAX light rail or a TriMet bus to the zoo will receive $1.50 off admission with proof of ridership.
