The Red Hot Stompers are a variation of a larger orchestra arranged by Richard Basi. Louis Armstrong’s 1965 visit to the Rose City directly resulted in the formation of the full orchestra and they find inspiration from the likes of Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Jelly Roll Morton, WC Handy, Spencer Williams, the Oklahoma City Blue Devils, Fletcher Henderson, and so many more.

Hot times, prohibition, speakeasies, wax & early vinyl recordings were the order of the day. We play the jazz created during its most important period : the 1920s to the 1940s.
