Pride Northwest announces the seventh annual Gaylabration, a dance party and fundraiser and official Pride Festival event to be held Saturday June 17th, 2017 to celebrate the diversity of love and relationships in our community. All profits support the fulfillment of the Pride Northwest core mission. Gaylabration 2017 will feature premiere entertainment provided by DJ Joe Gauthreaux (NY), David Sylvester, The Circus Project, Seattle Shibari, Revol Artists, and DaBooth. Lighting and effects by Portland Productions.

The first Gaylabration was launched in 2011, following the passage of marriage equality legislation in New York, as a way to celebrate love and community. While the United States continued to deny same-sex couples in Oregon and throughout the nation the right to wed, our community chose to unite in support of marriage equality. Now, with LGBT rights an ever-growing issue we unite once again in celebration and support. Gaylabration has also evolved to become the featured Saturday night dance party of Pride weekend and therefore expanded its mission to include enhancing the dance music scene in Portland by bringing in premier DJs and production.

We’d love to attend because no one should EVER be oppressed for who they are – they should, however, be prideful at all times, and get super funky!

I had such a wonderful time last year. I am excited for the sponsors included this year and for the venue change. Should be some of the same fun!

  13. Randa June 10, 2017 at 12:53 pm #

I would love to win tickets! I can’t wait to celebrate this years pride. I’ve previously been from a smaller community that doesn’t have the support system like here in Portland. I want to feel the energy and power of everyone around me, as we all celebrate our love, equal rights, individuality, and beauty. Excited to see your beautiful faces!

I wasn’t able to attend any Pride events last year and it is my partners first pride in Portland. I can’t imagine a better way to dance our way into the festivities!

I have experienced several pride events over the years, but it is Portland Pride that influenced me the most. The LGBT community in Portland is the most accepting and welcoming community. There is a fierce advocacy among this community that I am proud to be a part of.

    Yes!!!!

My first time doing Oregon’s pride festival can’t wait… Can’t wait to see how Oregon represents!!

This would be beyond amazing for me and my partner to attend! As it took many years for us to feel proud about who we are, we are finally at a point to where we do not hide from his family, or fear showing affection in public. We have never gone to a Pride event (only the parade) and what a way to break that barrier than going to this!!

  21. Luemma02 June 15, 2017 at 2:56 pm #

    Yes please whooooboy!

  22. Matt June 15, 2017 at 8:49 pm #

    I, also, am gay. Yes.
