March 25 is Elton John’s birthday and we want to celebrate. Along with the great lyrics of Bernie Taupin, Elton John created and performed some of the best pop music the world has ever known. The first set will be nothing but Elton John and Bernie Taupin classics like “Your Song”, “Daniel”, “Rocket Man”, “Honkey Cat”, “Philadelphia Freedom”, “Benny and the Jets”, “Crocodile Rock” and many others. The second set will be our usual AM Gold show, featuring soft rock hits from the AM dial.

Why AM Gold?

“Not every radio had FM capabilities, especially in cars. The AM dial was played in stores and restaurants and in the Country Squire Station Wagon that I rode in, sans seat belts. I absorbed these songs and they are a part of me. A few lines of ‘Rocket Man’ and I’m taken back to a time of polyester, bell bottoms and Evel Knievel.”

“We are always shocked at how the audience seems to know all the words to every song in our playlist. To hear the crowd sing “even though we ain’t got money, I’m so in love with you honey” or “give me the beat boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in your Rock n’ Roll and drift away” is magical. It’s like a big campfire sing-along, K-Tel style!” -Tony Starlight, AM Gold Seventies Soft Rock Show

What started as a monthly Neil Diamond Tribute has grown into a soft rock explosion! Tony Starlight makes an evening out of performing songs from the stalwarts of the AM dial in the 1970s. Artists like Elton John, Neil Diamond, Carole King, Jim Croce, Little River Band, Carly Simon, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, Barry Manilow and Billy Joel. One hit wonders like “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)”, “Dancin’ In The Moonlight”, “Welcome Back”, “Seasons In The Sun” and much, much more.

Craig Bidondo: Pianist
Bo Ayars: Keyboards

OMG! Sir Elton is 70?! Where DOES the time go? I would simply ADORE these tickets, although I don’t know anyone who loves Sir Elton as much as I do to take with me! I will have to smack someone over the head with a club & drag em with me by the hair. Makes for great conversation…
Anyhoo- I would love to sing along w/ Tony Starlight. I have heard his Liberacci, his hands are flawless!! He has quite a flair, and would do Sir Elton much justice!

CANDLE IN THE WIND ..for all those beautiful lights that have gone. Marillyn, Princess Diana, whitney.
AH the 70’s..the music…lights..patchouli… Flower children. Our spirit is anchored by those things. I think of the flat windshield in my 1969 bug I drove in Boston , the Ventures my parents favorite LP…

  17. TRISTAN March 21, 2017 at 12:17 pm #

I saw him at differerent park concerts but I have really wanted to see his show in the theatre setting, or the venue that is inside rather than in a park. This is going to be so much fun, and I love Elton John so I should feel very comfortable here.

  22. Christina Larson March 21, 2017 at 1:48 pm #

I grew up with his and Taupin’s hits. They’re in my bones. I sure hope to meet fellow fans and have a good sing a long at some point.
