2017 Tour will be the CD and DVD release of “LIVE on St. Patrick’s Day”. See the St. Paddy’s Day concert recorded LIVE. Plus on the 2nd DVD the Rovers party at home in Ireland as they celebrate their 50 years of music.

This final world tour has been selling out worldwide and is fast approaching!

The Celtic super-band was founded in Canada in Toronto but first became known on American television in the 60s. As guests on shows like The Tonight Show, The Smothers Brothers Show, Mike Douglas Show, The Virginian, The Dating Game (George Millar actually won the date), they gained experience before hosting their first international television series, “The Irish Rovers Show”.

Over the next twenty years they became staples of the world music scene with two more international television series, and performing at five World Expos. At that time, fans enjoyed their early hits like Black Velvet Band, The Unicorn, Whisky on a Sunday and Wasn’t That A Party. These days they’ve produced two more television specials, “The Irish Rovers Home in Ireland” and “The Irish Rovers Christmas”, plus gone viral with Drunken Sailor!

The days of the long tours are finally coming to an end for these Irish lads as they are now completing one last world tour. After that, they will rove again only for special events, festivals and longer stays. International touring will happen only on a very limited scale. At concerts, fans will enjoy a mix of their hits, rollicking Jigs and Reels, plus hilarious stories from their years on the road.

We Bangjo 3
The Award-winning quartet from Galway, Ireland, deliver a ground breaking mixture of Irish Music and Old- Time American and Bluegrass influences with remarkable virtuosity and passion.

When I was a kid, I remember my grandfather having albums by the Irish Robers. (His family originally came from Ireland.) just hearing the name of the band brings back those memories..especially the song about why there are no unicorns!

My wife and I are both Irish. Her folks are from the south of Ireland and mine were from the north. Even so, our marriage has lasted 36 years, so far. It would be just lovely to celebrate our continuing union at the Irish Rovers’ concert.

“So will ye take me there tomorrow?
In a pig’s eye I said with sorrow.
So he drowned himself in the bathtub (naughty boy)
And I had pork chops for my tea.”

“Tales to Warm your Mind” was one of my first albums ever. I was just a little girl, but listened to it constantly. I especially loved the twisted ending to “Pigs Can’t Fly”! I still have that album!

I am a sorta, kinda, wanna be Irish girl at heart with a maiden name that could be considered Irish (Fleming), who wants to “live” Irish in Portland until I can get to Ireland one day if my husband will get on the plane and find possible Irish relatives and drink lots of Irish beer. It would be great to pretend I was in Ireland for one night… :)

If they sing “Isn’t It Grand Boys” I may loose it or sing right along. I’m sure anyone here would be a worthy pick, but there’s nothing that puts me in touch with my Irish roots than to hear a bit of traditional song.
