Women telling their true, personal stories of influencing the way shit gets done and blowing new doors into the thick walls of the patriarchal techo-chamber!

Women have been relegated to the background in this environment for too long, their important contributions overlooked – but that all changes now as we bring SIX women to the Rev Hall stage to share their never been told, true stories.

Story themes include Origins of My Superpower, Big Failure Big Gain, Embracing My Bossy Bad Self, Best / Worst / Oddest Day on the Job, That Moment I Just Stopped Caring, Shaking Hands with My Inner Weird.

Storytellers include women of all colors and cultural backgrounds who are killing it in tech:

  • MELINDA CAMPBELL, Puppet Inc.
  • MARIA WEBSTER, Freelance
  • LEAH SIDDALL, Elemental
  • SAIRA WEIGEL, Wieden+Kennedy
  • BROOK SHELLEY, Turbine Labs

A percentage of our proceeds will go to Black Girls CODE. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that black girls, when given the opportunity, excel at code. Their ultimate goal is to provide African-American youth with the skills to occupy some of the 1.4 million computing job openings expected to be available in the U.S. by 2020, and to train 1 million girls by 2040. We are thrilled to be putting this capital toward a cause we believe in!

As a woman in tech for almost 20 years, I would love to hear more great stories from other women in tech!

Not in tech, but healthcare, it’d be an education to listen to their stories & the patriarchs that stood in their way.

Who doesn’t want to hear women tell their stories! I know very little about women’s experiences in tech. So this sounds like a great opportunity.

My daughter tells me I need to learn more about the Internets. I’ve told her Aqua-net is all I need. Am I wrong? What are these world wide webs all the kids are talking about?

A good friend of mine co-wrote a book about women in tech and I was telling her about this event. I have done tech for 30 years and my daughter is learning how to code now. I am very interested her having the chance to hear other women’s experiences in Tech as well.

I just joined a tech start-up (Skillsai) as their Director of Marketing and am finding quickly that there’s not a whole lot of places for women to tell their stories about their work. This would be AWESOME and so inspiring for me.
