I have wanted to attend this event since I moved to Portland several years ago. Unfortunately, with a fiancé in grad school and my teacher’s salary, it is always out of my reach. I would love to get dressed up for the night and enjoy the finer side of Portland for once! :)

    • Kathleen Rogers December 29, 2016 at 4:07 pm #

This has been an event I’ve wanted to experience for awhile, on what is a monumental holiday for me. In recent years, at the cusp of the old-to-new year I’ve consciously attempted to do something that puts me out of my comfort zone…something grand that prepares me for the unknown of the next 365 days. I’ve long suffered from severe anxiety and attending an event like this, dressing up in something beautiful, dancing, would be a slightly scary—but an immensely amazing thing for me. And if given the opportunity to attend this event, I’d take an old friend who I’ve longed to tell that I have strong feelings towards them (which is extra scary/exciting). I’m motivated to have a strong and confident new year, starting there at the Governer’s Ball, with someone special.

My hubby and I live outside a very small rural farming town, and we have wanted to visit the “big city” for quite some time. I decided to surprise my husband with an overnight stay for our 24th anniversary, which is New Year”s Eve.

Attending this would be the cherry on top of the sundae. This would sure make our anniversary stay in Portland even more memorable.

This fantastic party is at the gorgeous Sentinel Hotel and known as The Governor’s Ball. As such, I solemnly swear I will not talk in a Cockney accent once that night, nor will I call the event Da Guv’nor’s Boll. I will be the ultimate Eliza Doolittle.

  47. Jesse December 29, 2016 at 4:18 pm #

  49. Kimberly Self December 29, 2016 at 4:26 pm #

I would die and go to NYE heaven if I won tickets to this! Me and my boyfriend have had a rough year with many struggles that just happen with life, work and family. We really want to start 2017 out on a positive and upbeat note! So far we don’t have any plans so pretty please we’d love these tickets!

  51. JazzDad December 29, 2016 at 5:05 pm #

I’ve lived in PDX my entire life, and have never been able to get tickets to the Governor’s Ball; something I’ve wanted to attend since it’s inception. Patrick Lamb is one of my favorite PDX musicians, and the combination of the two together would provide a truly exceptional way to experience New Years Eve for me and my lady. It’s been over a decade since we have been out on NYE – so sad; and to put it mildly, I’m in a bit of a “dog house” if I don’t come thru this year. Please help me out!

  52. Daisy December 29, 2016 at 5:16 pm #

    I hope I get them!!

  53. Kiana Botz December 29, 2016 at 5:18 pm #

Please pick me! I haven’t had NYE off in over 6 years, I’ve got a beauty of a dress that’s been sitting in my closet untouched that’s just screaming to be seen, and I’ve got a 007 fanatic of a bf that would be my slave for all of 2017 if I took him to this! Please help a girl out

  54. Shelly Wilkerson December 29, 2016 at 6:04 pm #

This would be a fantastic opportunity. We have no plans yet, and would be thrilled if chosen for such an event!
