Grab some popcorn and a picnic blanket, The Oregon Garden in Silverton has announced the return of its popular Movies in the Garden series, presented by Willamette Valley Pie Co., which screens a cult classic every Thursday evening throughout the summer. The movies are shown on a big screen in the Garden Green – the heart of The Oregon Garden – every Thursday night beginning July 7 and running through August 25.

Doors open at 7pm, and the show begins at dusk. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for teens 12 to 17, $2 for children 5 to 11 and Oregon Garden members, and free for children 4 and under. A season pass is available for $15, which allows ticketholders to enjoy all eight movies at a discount of more than 50 percent (a season pass is valid for one person per movie). Free parking is available in the lower parking lot, across from The Oregon Garden Pavilion.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets, as well as sweaters to stay warm after the sun sets. Chairs are allowed, but will be placed in the back. If it is raining, or there is a high chance of rain during the movie, the viewing party will move indoors to the Grand Hall.

There will be candy, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase, and local food trucks will sell dinner fare. No outside food or beverages are allowed. Well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome. Attendees must show ID for R-rated movies; children under the age of 18 will not be admitted without an adult.

Movie Schedule

For those who wish to make a night of it, the Oregon Garden Resort is offering a special Movie Package for $138, which includes accommodations, admission to The Oregon Garden, two movie tickets, food and drink vouchers to spend at the movie, and a full buffet breakfast. Book online at or call 800-966-6490.

Movies in the Garden is presented by Willamette Valley Pie Co. and sponsored by Capitol Subaru, AmeriTitle, Citizens Bank and Edward Jones.
