I’ve never attended a Pride event before. I came out to my family and friends last year and am just starting find my identity and how it relates to my sexual orientation. Poison Waters is my most favorite performer and this would be an amazing opportunity to see her in action and I think it would be the perfect Pride event for a lil’ baby turnip like me

Sounds like so much fun! If you know anything about Lulu Lucious she always is so funny. This would be such a highlight of pride this year!

Yay for Portland Pride! I went on The Big Gay Boat Ride with my roommate last year. We came decked out in nautical attire and inflatable pool floats (just in case). It was a blast! Would love to go again this year.

My father just passed away on May 12th. This father’s day, my mom is coming to visit my husband I. The BGBR would be a wonderful new tradition for us to start and a fun way to be distracted. One of my fondest memories of my dad is him tipping Poison years ago at Darcelle’s. :-)

  26. Erin June 12, 2016 at 9:41 pm #

I would love to ride on the Big Gay Boat Ride! After the news of the tragedy in Orlando today, I want to be with community celebrating love and authenticity. I refuse to be too terrified by terror to not come together with community. I have attended Gay Pride events less and less over the years as I came out at 14 and felt that after 19 years of being out I did not need to celebrate at Pride events- I just celebrate love each day in the World. It occurs to me today that my celebrating Pride not only includes me in a precious and proud community, but shows others that they are included, not alone and that LOVE wins. Looking forward to a fabulous frolick on the water!

I would love to take my girlfriend on this, we’ve had some rough times lately and it’d feel so good to be able to do something fun we wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. Good luck to everybody. We are all PRIDE, every day of the year. Love my ladies always <3 !!

I’m 36 yrs old and never attended any pride. I’ve just recently in the past few years become comfortable in designating myself as queer. I like both men and women and have had a hard time being accepted into the community because I date a man now and wish to remain somewhat neutral with my family. I’ve wanted to attend pride but have had to work every weekend for the last five years. Due to a work accident I have this weekend off. I would love to experience the joy of pride finally, especially in the wake of such a tragedy, and share the experience with so many diverse members of the community. Please help me go on this amazing cruise!!!

  36. Wendiane Woodburn June 14, 2016 at 11:20 pm #

As the mother of a gay daughter, I will be attending the Portland (and in July….Vancouver) events for the first time ever, after the horrible tragedy in Orlando. I thought it was more important than ever for us ALL to show our support!

However, I want these tickets for my daughter and her girlfriend. Her girlfriend just graduated with her Master’s degree and I can’t afford to get her a present. And, my daughter has her Bachelor’s and is working in her career but she has student loans to pay back so…neither of them could afford to do this otherwise.

I love my daughter soooo much!!!! She is about to have her one year anniversary with her girlfriend! I just think this would be such a great gift to them both, for their anniversary and for her girlfriend’s graduation! I I wish I could afford to just buy them, but I can’t.

My girl friend is from New Zealand. She has never been to Portland let alone spent a lot of time in the states. I was born and raised in bend and love Oregon. We have been together for 3 years now, and I plan on proposing. I was hoping to do it at Portland pride but have been pretty short on cash from buying the ring. I’m hoping to do it on the boat ride spontaneously because we met in the water as well. I’ve had the ring for a while and decided that this should be the night. She has no idea. I’ve pitched the thought of going on the boat ride and she is so into it! However coming up to pride is already taking a dent out of the wallet let alone buying the tickets. I would love some help for our special night and for her it will be a night to remember. Getting these tickets would mean the world to her and myself. Please help us make out night special!

  38. Lauren Quackenbush June 15, 2016 at 9:32 am #

I would love to win tickets for this event! My wife and I live in a rural area and we’re hungry for some urban queer pride to feel the love and boogie down with our fellow fabulous queers! We run an organic flower and vegetable farm and don’t often take time for ourselves, but this year we decided we wanted to come out for Pride to celebrate our lovely resilient community. We would really love to get on the boat and dance the day away!!

  39. Mika June 15, 2016 at 10:59 am #

I’m new to Portland from Las Vegas which means this is my first Portland Pride so why not go out with a BANG!!!

  40. Jeremy richardson June 15, 2016 at 11:56 am #

Celebrating love amongst friends and family is so important, now more than ever these days. This cruise is just one of many ways for us to show support and honor those who have fallen.

I watch far too much TV. I need an excuse to get out of the house or else I won’t do it. I just won’t. This sounds like a good enough excuse to pull me from the never-ending depths of laziness that is my bed. It whispers sweet nothings to me and I am helpless to resist it’s cushiony charms. Save me from my bed. Choose me to go on this boat ride.
