It is with pleasure that the Portland Storytellers’ Guild announces the renaming and dedication of our annual Festival of Stories after Sarah Hauser. Sarah was a long-time member of the guild, a much-loved storyteller and, in her capacity as president of the board, brought Festival of Stories into existence.

This year we are please to announce an exciting line-up of some of Portland’s finest storytellers for the two nights of the festival.

On Friday, June 10, telling stories under the theme of Quests and Journeys, listen as Maura Doherty, Eric Foxman, Steven Henegar, Anne Penfound and Gretchen Peterson spin tales from lands around the globe.

On Saturday, June 11 listen to an evening of tales of Transformation from tellers Chetter Galloway, Rick Huddle, Ken Iverson, Ingrid Nixon and Julie Strozyk.

This year we are offering a season pass for both nights as well individual performance tickets, with greater savings when you reserve online. So reserve your seats now for Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11.

I’m keeping a friend busy after two horrendous years of divorce and personal loss. She is a good writer and I think enjoying these talented story tellers will go a long way to encourage her creativity.

To sound cliche, I’ve enjoyed many podcasts regarding storytelling lately and I’m strongly considering going!!
