Soulful Giving2016 Soulful Giving Blanket Concert
Saturday, August 6, 2016
11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | $25 General, $50 Premier, $100 VIP | 21+
More info: soulfulgiving.org

Yoshida’s Garden View Estate
29330 Southeast Stark Street, Troutdale, OR 97060

The Soulful Giving Foundation is orchestrating the hottest event in East County by bringing together: four outstanding tribute bands, fourteen of Portland’s finest restaurants, Chateau St. Michelle Wines, Pabst Blue Ribbon beers, Bendistillery vodka, Sake One cocktails, art and vendor shopping, champagne/jewelry raffle, and remarkable silent auction items. And that’s just the beginning!

Spread your blankets and sand chairs under shady fir trees on Saturday, August 6th from 11:30am – 8:30pm and enjoy a fun-filled day along the scenic Sandy River in Troutdale, Oregon. This is the sixth annual “21 and over” Soulful Giving Blanket Concert, benefiting Randall Children’s Hospital and Providence Cancer Research Center with Pete Ferryman, news anchor, and Andy Carson of Good Day Oregon on KPTV Fox-12 presiding as co-emcees. The Yoshidas will open the gardens surrounding their sprawling 15-acre estate and indoor, air-conditioned pavilion once again to 4,000 lucky ticket holders. This year’s musical line-up features: The Radical Revolution (80’s Dance & Party Band), Jukebox Heroes (Foreigner Tribute Band), Barracuda (Heart Tribute Band), and Stone in Love (Journey Tribute Band).

Participating restaurants in the pavilion will include: El Gaucho, Morton’s, Salty’s, Tree’s Catering, Urban Fondue, Brix Tavern, Swank and Swine, La Bamba, Nicholas, Thirst Bistro, Bumper’s Grill & Bar, Enzo’s, Bamboo Sushi, and The Riverview. As an additional treat, Man-with-a-pan chef Mark Staggs will be showcasing his talent by creating blazing calamari, and Fireside Grill, Garden Monsters, 808 Grinds, K&F Coffee, Crater Lake Soda, and Earth 2o Water will have food and beverage items available for purchase throughout the day.

With cancer being the leading cause of death by disease among children in the U.S., this year’s event will benefit the pediatric cancer unit at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel as well as the Providence Cancer Research Center. To honor the dedication of medical teams in this field, Governor Brown has issued an official proclamation designating August 6th as Oregon Children’s Cancer Awareness Day. Although cure rates are increasing, close to 35% of children diagnosed with cancer will not survive and there has been an increase in cancer over the past 20 years. Doctors and scientists studying and identifying the causes and cures of childhood cancers need the public’s assistance to support advances in treatment. With this in mind, the Soulful Giving Foundation encourages you to join us in making a difference in the lives of children in Oregon State.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, May 5th at www.soulfulgiving.org. General admission is $25 and includes parking and shuttle service. Premier tickets are $50 and include parking, continuous shuttle service, free gourmet tastings in the restaurant pavilion (11:30am-4:30pm) and two complimentary drinks. VIP tickets run $100 and include limo service, champagne, VIP seating, free gourmet tastings in the restaurant pavilion (11:30aam-4:30pm), three complimentary drink tickets, and a commemorative gift.

Please note that 100% of ALL proceeds benefit Randall Children’s Hospital and Providence Cancer Center.
Free parking and shuttle service is provided for all guests at MHCC. For a $1 donation, downtown Portland & Westside ticket holders can catch one of the Cascadia Cruiser “Soul Buses” every 30 minutes (11am-9pm) from the Lloyd Center parking lot and will in turn receive a complimentary cold beer. This event is ADA accessible and drop-offs are permitted adjacent to the registration desk prior to parking at MHCC. Please keep in mind that no pets, outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed. Visit www.soulgiving.org to pick up your tickets, answer your questions, and to find complete details for this amazing event.

  37. Kathy L. Rankin May 17, 2016 at 1:08 pm #

It’s our 27th wedding anniversary! I would love to take my husband as a surprise!
It is also my 26th date of sobriety! On the wagon since 1989, doing great. My husband
would love to taste some wine, he used to make wine! I love the bands, I can sing along
(maybe quietly) and have fun! My husband had undergone heart surgery last year and
survived but later got an infection and he survived that too. We would like to go to this
and have the time of our lives and make new memories. This is a great reason to go,
its summer, outdoors and be amongst other people who also believe in finding a cure
for cancer. So many people’s lives are affected by cancer, even if they are not sick.
Finding a cure would be the best gift I could get. I have a friend with 4th stage breast
cancer. Whether we win these tickets or not, I would like to be involved in helping to
find a cure. We are so lucky if we have our health. Music brings joy to lives and I would
    love to go to this!

  38. Kathy L. Rankin May 17, 2016 at 1:10 pm #

I second that emotion! ( Can I do that?)

    • Kathy L. Rankin May 19, 2016 at 11:26 am #

I really wanna go to this. Please pick me and know that I would appreciate this more than anyone else! My dad died of cancer when I was 18 months old. I have a best friend that has 4th stage breast cancer. It is a disease that HAS a cure but who knows when it is shared so people can stop paying out all their life savings to the pharmaceutical companies for the meds they need to live and to doctors for radiation/chemo that may or may not save their life! If it is your life on the line, wouldn’t you want to have all the info you can get on all the treatments available to you and not just the ones the doctor orders? And yes! END CHILDHOOD CANCER. No child should have to know that they may die at the age of 4. Come on! Lets find a cure!

  39. Amber Hutchins May 17, 2016 at 3:50 pm #

I would love to this and take some photos! I will post them later. It is our anniversary 27 years….we were married august 6 1988. I hope that is the right number! ha! so many years have gone by but we both still love rock and roll. The louder the better, right?
We are not too old to rock and roll, so please out of all these people wanting to go that I
want to go the most! I am also thinking that it will be even more fun since this is going to be a limo type of service, I won’t have to drive! How cool is that?

  58. Kathy L. Rankin May 22, 2016 at 9:25 am #

Correction, we were married August 6 1987. I knew I was off but we still want to celebrate our anniversary this night!

    Sounds like a great time.

  69. Ruth P May 27, 2016 at 12:37 pm #

I would love to do this for so many reasons, but as I read comments, I am rooting for the gal with 26 years sobriety. If not her, then I too am at the age of the original rock and rollers–but I think the last outdoor music event I have done would have been Joan Baez at the Red Rocks in Colorado when her husband was in jail for tearing up his draft card during the VN years.

  70. Tim May 27, 2016 at 2:52 pm #

Would like to be able to attend the event this year.
