Can Animotion’s BILL WADHAMS and 18th-century German philosopher IMMANUEL KANT save *all* the ’80s from timeline annihilation? Find out at the next The Late Now. Enjoy a three course dinner, music, interviews, sketches, philosophy, Dada, and most excellent madness.

The Late Now #35 stars BILL WADHAMS of ANIMOTION, JANE VOGEL (Age and Gender Equity in the Arts) and features MARX HEADROOM.

BILL WADHAMS sang the massive hit song “OBSESSION” in 1984 as lead singer of legendary LA synthpop band ANIMOTION. He’ll perform a song from the musical he’s writing. And he’ll save time and space.

JANE VOGEL is an actor, activist, clinical psychologist, and longtime champion of social justice. She’s the Founder and Board President of AGE AND GENDER EQUITY IN THE ARTS (AGE), a nonprofit organization empowering and promoting the visibility of women across the lifespan in the performing arts, effecting a paradigm shift in the culture. And on May 14 she’ll bring us wisdom from THE FUTURE!

MARX HEADROOM will rock the dialectical materialism, ’80s computer style. IMMANUEL KANT will goe BACK TO THE FUTURE from the 1780s by harnessing the transcendental ideality of time, or something. Plus, THE LATE NOW GRAND CRÜ BAND GOES ALL ’80S.

How 80s? Tonight’s whipsmart set gets its ’80s on with everything from Kraftwerk to Eurhythmics, Gary Numan to Kate Bush and, in fact, much, much more.

High-spirited live music featuring Anna Leander (AnnaPaul & The Bearded Lady) on vocals, trombone & keytar, bandleader/drummer Charles Pike (Franco Paletta and the Stingers), Michelle Horgen (keys), Paul Brainard (pedal steel guitar, trumpet), Ross Seligman (guitar), and bassist Paul Trubachik (of the eponymous Paul Trubachik band).

I seek not the favor of the multitude; it is seldom got by honest and lawful means. But I seek the testimony of few tickets; and number not voices, but want to hear them.

All thought must, directly or indirectly, by way of certain characters, relate ultimately to intuitions, and therefore, with us, to sensibility, because in no other way can an object be given to us.

Unless you happen to win it my commenting on an on-line story…
