The Annual Walk/Run for the Animals is gearing up for the biggest and best event in its 25-year history. The fundraising event, organized by the Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW), benefits the 8,000 animals served each year, providing support to help heal, train, and match dogs and cats with families. In 2015, more than 4,400 animals found their perfect match through adoption, which is the largest number of animals adopted in the organization’s history.

The Walk/Run takes places on Saturday, May 7, at Esther Short Park in Vancouver. Beginning in the heart of downtown Vancouver at Esther Short Park, runners and walkers will depart in waves to accommodate what is expected to be larger numbers of participants.
