Oregon LoveHeartbeat Silent Disco “Oregon Love” A Silent Disco/Cannabis Event
February 28, 2016
5-8 p.m. | General $15, VIP $50 | 21+

Refuge PDX
116 Southeast Yamhill Street Portland, OR 97217

Why is it Silent?
So we can use headphones to turn 1 room into 3. This offers something for those who like Bands or Djs, and still room for those who want to learn about the industry hear people speak. Instead of having our DJs on loud speakers that can blow out your eardrums and often make it hard to have a chat. We use a transmitter to send the music to the Heartbeat Headphones. The headphones give you personal volume control and the option to choose between one of 3 channels. If you ever want to have that conversation just slide them off your ear or around your neck.

Why is it Canna?
Because we Canna here in Oregon so we thought we would take the opportunity to show some Love and shine a little light on the folks who have been working hard for years to perfect their craft right here in the state you know and Love. We will be featuring a variety of Oregon vendors and products.

We will be running 3 channels at this event and have Vendors , Samples, Giveaways and more. Details coming soon…

  • Blue Channel – Live Djs
  • Red Channel – HQ GD, PH, SCI, JGB, WSP, STS9 and more
  • Green Channel – Education on the Plant, the Medicine, and the Industry

I would love to win these tickets because it’s a brilliant way to celebrate marijuana and learn more about the marijuana culture in Portland, without having disco music blaring in the background.

I love the option of putting three different channels on in your headphones, for those who want to . It’s a win-win for everyone!

Portland rocks and so does cannabis and music!

SILENT DISCO?!?! I have never been to a silent disco but have always wanted to go ever since discovering that they were a thing. I’ve never been able to find one locally and now here we are. Plus, it’s marijuana themed which makes it all the more perfect for me. I would love to go to this so badly. It would definitely be one to mark off the list of things to do in a lifetime.

  18. Krystal February 19, 2016 at 1:21 pm #

I would love to go because I worked my ass off for three and a half years to legalize cannabis and would love to celebrate our success in my favorite way ….dancing….. and I would love to see a musical event supporting legal cannabis as I used to put them on to make things this way.

  19. Tab February 19, 2016 at 1:27 pm #

I have been a long time cannabis enthusiast and medical user. I am a more recent silent disco enthusiast. I have been in school for a decade and am finally finishing my grad degree, thus I need to celebrate this in the best way possible and that is with great buds and the hearbeat style over my ears!!!!

  38. Melody Sunshine February 21, 2016 at 8:56 pm #

Because I love everything about this event along with the venue. I would love to go and the only way I would be able to is to win a free ticket. Silent disco’s are one of my favorite things in Portland and the celebration of the legalization of a plant that helps in so many ways is definitely something to dance about!

  39. Dr Nick February 21, 2016 at 9:37 pm #

Because I love Silent Disco, and like the new Oregon Green scene, and Refuge, to boot! As a doc. I sign a lot of medical card apps, so it would be nice to learn more, in a relaxed and fun environment, about what’s up and coming. Besides what I learn from my patients, of course!

  40. Emily February 22, 2016 at 8:52 am #

Who wouldn’t want to win?! Boogie all night at a silent disco with your friends at Refuge? Yes, please! <3

  41. Melissa February 23, 2016 at 2:26 pm #

OK, so I’d be the oldest person there, but who cares? I love music, I love to dance, and I love the end of marijuana prohibition! Cheers!

  42. Kemi February 23, 2016 at 3:12 pm #

This sounds like a blast, who wouldn’t want to get down to a Silent Disco!! Pick me!

  57. Tia February 25, 2016 at 2:28 pm #

For the first eighteen years of my life, I was plagued with misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis- pill after pill to balance out what wasn’t working. When I turned eighteen, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease and PTSD from all of the troubles I went through trying to get diagnosed. I did some research in hopes of finding a better way to live instead choking down anti-acids and appetite stimulants and that’s when I discovered cannabis. In April 2012, I was in a cycling accident and broke my clavicle and scapula- which has left me with chronic pain and repetitive stress injury. (Oh, yeah and scoliosis). My last job was in the cannabis industry at a dispensary and there I was fortunate enough to learn more about what was actually going to make me functional again, vs what was going to turn me into a couch potato. My doctors have referred to me as a “medical snowball” and without having stumbled upon cannabis, I can assure you that I would either be an unhappy, drooling puddle of side-effects and symptoms, or dead.

I also just moved to Portland on January 10th with the intention of becoming a naturopath, getting my degree in food science and eventually starting an allergen friendly line of cannabis edibles; got engaged on the same day we got here, and had my 24th birthday on February 18th, but couldn’t afford to do anything since the move took all of the savings my fiance and I had. Also, with all of my interest and enthusiasm in the cannabis industry, I have never been fortunate enough to attend an event. Actually, I’ve never really been to any sort of large event.

I think I might genuinely cry if I win these tickets. I’ve never won tickets before, and I’ve wanted to go to a Portland event for almost my entire life. I’ve been in love with this city since I can remember, and Mary Jane will forever and always be my guardian angel… so an event like this just sounds like complete and total heaven. My first few weeks here have already been the best of my life. This would just cement it!

Jeez… that got long really quickly. Thanks for reading, even if I don’t win!
Much love and good karma <3

  58. El February 25, 2016 at 3:48 pm #

It’s a win win winner. No criticism, no judgement, no condemnation! I love how this is being handled with such beauty and truth. What an exciting opportunity to focus on more of these events taking place. It cultivates joy, peace and love!

  59. Shawn February 25, 2016 at 4:06 pm #

    Yes please!

  60. Drew February 25, 2016 at 4:18 pm #

  65. Megan February 26, 2016 at 10:43 am #

Because I love disco, loud or silent, green, dancing and love! Did I mention disco and dancing?

  66. Dancing Doris February 26, 2016 at 11:38 am #

Wow, I would love to win and after reading Tia’s message above, maybe we can both win! This is the coolest idea, having multiple events using headphones AND you can slide headphones off to have a human connection aka conversation! Genius! Often have thought that it is odd that there can be hundreds of people in a small space however the sound system is obnoxiously loud, you can not talk to the person right next to you. Afterwards my voice is hoarse from yelling and ears ringing from the noise. Kind of hard to text someone what you said while slow dancing! ha ha Plus we can learn and have fun and meet new people. Looking forward to more events like this. Share the love!

  67. Erin February 26, 2016 at 11:44 am #
