The Howie begins the story. The Rookie concludes it.

Mark O’Rowe’s Howie the Rookie is an epic tale. A wild, urban odyssey through a nightmarish landscape, hilarious, grotesque and, finally, deeply moving and touching.

A kaleidoscopic array of characters including Ladyboy, a psychotic thug on a quest to avenge the deaths of his Siamese fighting fish. Malodorous adrenaline-junkies Flann Dingle and Ginger Boy, Avalanche, a ski-panted monster looking for love, the tragic Mouse, the scabies-afflicted Peaches. And the Howie. And the Rookie.

One hell of a story.

Through the course of two nights our guides through this saga will forever be changed. “Mr. O’Rowe…is fierce with talent… one of those rare, shiver-making instances in which language seems to become truly physical”

Now The Factory Theatre, back from hiatus, is proud to present this one of-a-kind gut punch to the heart type of show directed and designed by Matthew Jared Lee in Portland February 19-28, March 3-6 at The Shout House: 210 SE Madison Ste. II
Featuring: Nevan Richard as the Howie Lee and the Rookie Lee

The show runs 80 minutes with one 10-minute intermission. Also featuring FREE BEER AT THE SHOW!

My Dad is coming to visit Portland for the first time for my birthday (at the end of February). He’s never visited Portland before and I’d love to show him the best of what this city has to offer.
