As the first truffle festival in the English-speaking world, and “one of the top 5 destinations in the world for truffle lovers,” the Oregon Truffle Festival offers a culinary experience that simply cannot be found anywhere else. This is an international event that joins truffle fanciers and truffle experts from all over the world in three days of celebration, educational seminars, and hands-on experiences.

NEW IN 2016!
Now in its 11th year, the Oregon Truffle Festival will expand to three weekends beginning with the Joriad™ North American Truffle Dog Championship, moving to an exploration of the terroir of Yamhill Valley truffle and wine country, and concluding with the festival’s popular Eugene weekend of events to close out the festivities. That means more events, more chefs, more education, more truffle hunting and more opportunities to celebrate Oregon’s most treasured culinary ingredient.

It’s been a long year of transition. A new job, charitable work overseas and a broken relationship. What a way to start the new year off to be able to attend this amazing event. It would be a blessing to be able to enjoy the food and wine of this great state despite the cold rainy days.

  5. Ali November 30, 2015 at 5:22 pm #

I’m getting married in 2016 and every single extra cent I have will be going towards that. No dinners out, no food festivals, nothing. For 10 more months. I need this. My food-loving heart is broken!

  6. Lynn Elsdon November 30, 2015 at 8:19 pm #

Ooooh La La! What a treat this would be!

  11. Athena T. December 1, 2015 at 2:05 pm #

It would be such an overwhelming surprise for my mycophile husband if I could present him with tickets to this event. He has been working so hard, pouring his heart and soul (not to mention all available finances) into his Lifelong Dream of Food Cart Ownership so at the moment, attending this festival is financially out of our reach. Which is a shame, because it’s life changing events like this that fan the flames of his creative chef’s soul and inspire it break free from the wearied IT shell inside of which it’s been suffocating for far too long. I believe attending an event like this would cause a torrent of newborn food creativity to burst forth from him like a wine-infused Phoenix exploding from garlic truffled ashes. I (and the food-loving public at large) would be greatly indebted to you if we could please be provided with a pair of tickets to inspire this hard-working man’s dreams. Thank you!

  12. Dana S December 1, 2015 at 4:05 pm #

We used to live in PDX and miss hunting for chants on the coast and matsies on MT Hood. What a treat it would be to return home to Oregon and attend the Truffle Festival.

  16. Sophie Dufrasnes December 1, 2015 at 7:17 pm #

Being from Europe (Amsterdam) where I had a successful restaurant in the 70s and lucky enough to taste the white and black truffels from Italy and France and use them on our menu. After having several restaurants in CA time moved on and I have never tasted an Oregon Truffle. You would make me the happiest person in Spokane and I cant wait to see your truffle festival and learn about what you are all about. Thank you.

  17. Monica A December 1, 2015 at 7:49 pm #

This would help me and a best friend cross it off our bucket list!

  18. Judy December 1, 2015 at 9:03 pm #

Bc I’m too cheap to shell out $350 of my own to enjoy truffles

  19. Simon December 1, 2015 at 9:41 pm #

I once bought a truffle, in Venice. It was life-changing. I didn’t know this festival existed until today, but I would love to experience that taste again…

  20. Nancy Rodriguez December 2, 2015 at 3:42 am #

Truffles are hidden treasures that reveal themselves to those who seek culinary magic. Out of the dust, truffles touch the ordinary and transform it into a taste that conjures up the earth combined with heaven.

  21. Lynn December 2, 2015 at 5:15 am #

  25. Jena December 2, 2015 at 7:48 am #

We’ve been attending the Market Place at the Oregon Truffle Festival on Sundays for the last 4 years. Met many amazing people & dogs, which have inspired my husband to purchase a Lagotto Romagnolo. Truffles are a decadence to be shared, loved but respected as they are so delicate. Would love to present tickets to my husband to share a dream of attending such a prize.

  26. Betsy Hinze December 2, 2015 at 7:49 am #

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about the Truffle Festival! I am a “Food Experience Designer” using all of the senses, including smell or taste, in my artwork. I describe my events as something between pop-up and performance art and they always are interactive and require the participation of the attendees. I’m always on the hunt for new inspiration and I have a hunch that the Truffle Festival will be full of it. I hope to win these tickets so I can afford to attend! Thank you for the opportunity. :)

  27. Joan December 2, 2015 at 8:14 am #

I’ve always wanted to go since I moved back to Oregon . :)

  28. Byron Redmond December 2, 2015 at 8:23 am #

First getting to share a romantic evening with my wife is much needed. Also we’re intrigued with truffles. I believe the experience alone and getting a taste upper echelon life would be perfect!

  40. Natalie December 2, 2015 at 6:07 pm #

While I have found truffles with the help of my pup, they were tiny and I used them for training so I have never eaten them. I would love to see the culture and passion I have yet to experience at this festival. I would also love to see how “real truffle dogs” find them so I can protect and educate people about our amazing gift.

  41. Kim Thompson December 2, 2015 at 9:02 pm #

This would be a tasty adventure that I would love to attend!

  42. Diana December 3, 2015 at 1:56 am #

  43. Scott December 3, 2015 at 7:09 am #

Oink! Is that the sound of the pet pig my partner has been dreaming about for her 27 years of life?! Smart, sweet, surprisingly clean, little truffle hunting pet pig? Nope! Just me and my voracious appetite. I l(an adult human person) love food, almost all food, except (eek!) I don’t love truffles. But I love my partner and would love to surprise her with a pair of tickets to Oregon Truffle Festival at Chehalem Cultural Center on January 22. I want to attend to show my caring, truffle loving partner how much she means to me. (Plus, with regional chefs, each showcasing Oregon black and white truffles paired with Oregon beer, wine and spirits, and some great dance music – I imagine I too will be a truffle lover by the end of the night).

  44. Emily Beezup December 3, 2015 at 7:10 am #

I would die from happiness if I got to go to this! As a small organic farmer I don’t get an opportunity to go out much. Oregon truffles are amazing!!

  67. Anne C. December 4, 2015 at 1:01 am #

This is an AMAZING opportunity!!! I am definitely a truffle addict!!! Some COOL truffle facts:
    1) Did you know that truffles are well documented as one of the world’s finest aphrodisiacs? Why, you may ask? The scent of truffles is extremely similar to a male pheromone.
    2) Did you know that truffles are only found in a handful of places around the world?
    3) Did you know that truffles are a fungi and they have a symbiotic relationship to certain tree roots?

I would share the Truffle Love with my new boyfriend who hasn’t yet been indoctrinated into the Truffle Experience! Sharing the Truffle love <3 <3 <3!!!

I was going to try to be witty, but fungus puns can get you in truffle because they don’t leave mushroom for interpretation. In all seriousness, my fiance once had a bad experience with a truffle, and I want to prove to her that not all truffles get you into truffle.

  93. Yossi December 7, 2015 at 3:58 pm #

Still fairly new to the area and trying to experience as much as I can of Portland and of Oregon as a whole. Have never eaten a truffle and have always been curious. This would be one more thing that living in the Pacific Northwest has to offer and I would love to share it with my partner. It would be an experience of a lifetime.

  187. Daniel December 20, 2015 at 3:17 pm #

I’d love to get a chance to go to this! I am a truffle enthusiast.

Oh, I would love to taste ALL the truffles Portland has to offer!

  190. Rachel December 21, 2015 at 11:26 am #

My New Years resolution is to get into more truffle. White truffle, whiteish truffle, black truffle, burgundy truffle. My goal for 2015 was to go outside of my comfort zone and try an array of Oregon cuisine (restaurants, carts, pop-ups). I think I did a pretty good job and was excited to see an array chefs from my favorite eateries to be showcased at Shaved & Infused. I would love to win a pair of tickets to Oregon Truffle Festival in Chehalem to get into some New Year truffle and support these wonderful local chefs. PDX Pipeline help me kickoff the new year right (And have an excuse to patronize Oregon’s wine country). Cheers to 2016!

  191. Amy December 22, 2015 at 1:28 pm #

Hunting fungus of all sorts is my new favorite hobby and my favorite thing to do since moving to the northwest! Someday I want to start a truffle farm! Hopefully science is able to better understand how to nurture the conditions needed to grow truffles domestically!

  196. Macy December 29, 2015 at 6:20 pm #

As a blogger and a Concierge I try to checkout all of Portland’s best foodie events, but I have not gotten a chance to do this one yet, largely due to the price tag, I’d love to come check it out so I can spread the word and promote your event!

I want to win cause I never tried truffles. I seen an episode of vice with action Bronson trying truffles and now I got to try them. I watched this show on truffle hunting in Oregon and now I’m definitely interested. I would like to film my experience down there and post it up on YouTube. Maybe interview some people and try some truffles first hand.

The Chocolate Fest and the Oregon Truffle Festival on the same weekend? What a dilemma!

Looks like, if I were fortunate enough to win tickets, I’d HAVE to do the ‘truffle shuffle’ down to Newberg to snuffle me some of those awesome Oregon truffles.

  216. Jenna January 22, 2016 at 4:42 pm #

YUMM! This event looks beyond amazing!

  217. Sharon October 20, 2016 at 9:58 am #

No sin, no taste, or no sight is more beautiful than the intoxicating delight that is the truffle!

Attending the Oregon Truffle festival would give me the opportunity to see, learn, and taste truffles in the raw. I would be able to share common language of passion of truffles with fellow Oregon epicureans and taste foods chefs adroit in their art.

This festival would also be an AMAZING opportunity to meet legendary Harold Mcgee and infamous Dave Arnold! I own both first and second edition of Harold’s books, ON FOOD AND COOKING and I follow/practice/meditate on Dave’s gastronomical insights from his website COOKING ISSUES in my home cooking and mischievous cocktail experiments. Listening and learning from these men would give me an opportunity to thank the pioneers that encouraged me to not be afraid in the kitchen as well as to channel and develop a creative outlet.

  218. Sharon December 31, 2016 at 12:13 pm #
