Pouring 90 different craft beers from around the country – plus beers from New Zealand in the International Tent – the Oregon Brewers Festival is the quintessential celebration of craft beer!

The Oregon Brewers Festival is one of the nation’s longest running and best loved craft beer festivals. Situated on the west bank of the Willamette River, with towering Mt. Hood as a backdrop, it is the ideal venue for anyone who loves craft beer. With a laid back attitude and scores of award-winning beers, the festival reflects the essence of the city of Portland, aka Brewvana.

The Oregon Brewers Festival exists to provide an opportunity to sample and learn about a variety of craft beer styles from across the country. Ninety craft breweries from all parts of the nation offer more than 30 styles of handcrafted brews to 85,000 beer lovers during the five-day event.

The festival’s focus is craft beer, but there’s more than sampling involved. The event features live music, beer-related vendors, beer memorabilia displays, home brewing demonstrations and an assortment of foods from a variety of regions. The Crater Lake Soda Garden offers complimentary handcrafted root beer for minors and designated drivers. Minors are always welcome at the festival when accompanied by a parent.

The Oregon Brewers Festival strongly encourages responsible drinking, and urges patrons to take advantage of TriMet
MAX Light Rail line, located just one block west of the festival on SW Oak Street. Plan your trip at trimet.org or m.trimet.org. Go by bus, train or taxi, just don’t drink and drive. Attendees can also take advantage of the onsite Hopworks Bike Corral
where volunteers from the #BC2Baja Bicycle Tour will watch over bikes for free.

209 Responses to Win Tickets ($125): 2015 Oregon Brewers Festival in Downtown Portland | 90 Craft Breweries Around the World, 85,000+ Attendees

  1. Matthew Kory July 13, 2015 at 1:39 pm #

I love the Oregon Brewers Festival. I’ve tried to go each year since I moved to Portland and I’ve only missed one (I was out of town). The beers are excellent and the setting can’t be beat. The place can get crazy crowded so it’s better to go during the day on the weekdays if possible, but it’s worth going either way. Can’t wait for the 22nd!

  2. Christina July 13, 2015 at 1:45 pm #

I would LOVE to check this out!!! I am usually the wine festival kinda girl, but Oregon has changed that. I have to get out and see what I like, and what’s a better way to do it then THIS!!

  3. Roxy July 13, 2015 at 1:52 pm #

I LOVE OREGON BEER!!!! What better way to visit downtown Portland then for a Brewfest?!?! :) Sign me up for winning tickets! Thnaks!

  4. Michael (neo) July 13, 2015 at 1:54 pm #

Cause I want to day drink while I sing ‘everyone acts like a day drinker… Yeaaaahhh’

I’m also 22 now so Im definitely allowed.

Plus I’ve never even been to a beer festival and I don’t own a car so you’d be awarding your ticket to a responsible attendee. I’ve got so many reasons omg.

I don’t have a job but I got a resume and some interviews.

I just ate shit on a skateboard and landed right on my chiny chin chin… Oh did I say I had interviews for potential jobs to go to.

Cause I don’t believe in luck.

I’ve got to be the chosen one.

  5. Kim July 13, 2015 at 1:58 pm #

This event looks epic. It kicks off on my dad’s 60th birthday, and he will be in town visiting for the week – WE WOULD LOVE TO CHECK THIS OUT! Can’t think of a better scene to be a part of while convincing him that retirement in OR is where it’s at :)

  6. ryan July 13, 2015 at 2:13 pm #

This is the grand-daddy of beer events, plus, my dad, a longtime home brewer, will be in town, so this just makes sense…

  7. Allison July 13, 2015 at 3:16 pm #

Last year was great! Would love to attend again. Cheers!

  8. Matt July 13, 2015 at 3:19 pm #

My wife and I just moved to Portland from Utah where 4% beers are the norm. We have some major catching up to do.

  9. Angela Morales July 13, 2015 at 3:20 pm #

I would love to win this because: 1) I’ve been in Portland 8 years and have yet to have the chance to attend a beer festival and 2) It’s my birthday month!

  10. Jefferson July 13, 2015 at 3:59 pm #

Get the brew out of here, brewfest? Count me in please.

  14. Elizabeth July 13, 2015 at 4:45 pm #

I’d love to go – it’s one of the few PDX beerfests I haven’t had a chance to experience yet.

I would love to take my sister to the festival as she will be visiting from the east coast for her birthday!

Really looking forward to tasting the beers from New Zealand

  19. Andre July 13, 2015 at 6:17 pm #

I should get the tickets because I will live tweet the whole thing with hilarious commentary. I will interview random strangers, take pictures of things I deem funny and you can see my tweets grow less and less coherent as the day wears on. Will limit percentage of tweets about lines for the bathroom to 10% or less.

  20. rya July 13, 2015 at 6:29 pm #

    I wanna go!

  21. Bryan July 13, 2015 at 8:55 pm #

I’d love to be the 1 in 85,000 that gets a head start on the festival. Would that make me part of the 1%?

  22. Liberty July 13, 2015 at 9:49 pm #

Would love tickets!! Have a friend coming to visit …. A beer festival on the water front is always a good time for someone from a small town!

  23. Carl July 13, 2015 at 10:16 pm #

It’s my first OBF since moving to Portland! I can’t think of a better way to experience all the beer culture and great variety of beer that Oregon has to offer than this festival.

  24. Jordon July 13, 2015 at 11:28 pm #

Oregon!!! Beer!!! That’s all the reason needed to head to this festival! See y’all there in my bright yellow beer socks ;)

  25. Paul Munyon July 14, 2015 at 5:14 am #

  28. Jill July 14, 2015 at 10:48 am #

This is the only weekend of the summer my husband and I make sure we’re in town because Brewfest is THAT awesome. So, we’re going and the tickets are already in our budget.

I vote you give the free tix to Michael (neo). Kid’s got spunk. And a resume. And he’s trying to get a job. Shoot, you should hire him while you’re at it.

  29. Jess July 14, 2015 at 10:54 am #

Haven’t been in nearly 20 years, back when it was THE only beer fest. So, yeah, send me again, I’m long overdue!

  30. Kenny Schmidt July 14, 2015 at 11:43 am #

I wanna go because I’m an alcoholic

  31. Ryan Leavenworth July 14, 2015 at 12:04 pm #

  32. Elisa l July 14, 2015 at 12:10 pm #

My mother-in-law will be in town. Nuff said.

  35. Julie July 14, 2015 at 1:01 pm #

  41. Paige July 14, 2015 at 9:12 pm #

I can’t wait for Brewfest this year! It will be my third and what better way to kick start summer than sample tons of brews, collect souvenir glasses and enjoy some of Portland best weather? I can’t think of one better reason to not join in and spread the beer!

  42. Emily July 14, 2015 at 9:24 pm #

I think I should win because my bf and I try to attend ALL beer related festivals. It gets to be pretty expensive, so having free tickets for this event will free us up to spend more money on all things “beer”!

  43. Jana July 14, 2015 at 10:35 pm #

I love beer! I would love to win! Thank you!

  44. Jullane July 14, 2015 at 11:01 pm #

I’d love to go because my husband & I LOVE beer! We’ve only been to this festival once before & it was so crazy crowded that we were waiting in line for each sample for 20 minutes. We each sampled only 3 or 4 beers before leaving because of this. I’d love to try this fest again!

  47. Perry July 15, 2015 at 7:47 am #

I go every year! Hopefully there is more spicy beer this year.

  48. Shannon Barber July 15, 2015 at 8:29 am #

  55. Kelsey ryan July 15, 2015 at 10:06 am #

A chance to learn more about beer and how it’s brewed would be awesome! I’d love to win tickets to taste some favorites and some new selections surrounded by good folk. This single mama needs some good in her life, and this would do just the trick!

  59. Jessi July 15, 2015 at 6:29 pm #

I got my wisdom teeth out this morning and am feeling pretty crummy. But by next week I’ll be ready to jump back in to Portland summer! Plus I have friends from Ireland and Singapore visiting for the week, and would love to show them this as an example of the best our city has to offer.

Please contribute to my dream of recovering and drinking more than smoothies! :)

  60. James July 15, 2015 at 6:31 pm #

My wife and I have missed this event the last two years! We will definitely be there this year though!

  61. Valerie July 15, 2015 at 6:35 pm #

I will be arriving for my VERY FIRST trip to Portland on the 21st and am so looking forward to the Brewfest! I am a caterer and a complete foodie and appreciate great beer, not just for taste but for its craftsmanship. As a chef, I understand that making beer, like cooking, is just as creative. Regardless of whether I win these tix, I will be there. I can’t wait to explore Portland, it’s culture, its natural beauty, it’s food; and, of course, it’s beer!!

  62. Angela Claussen July 15, 2015 at 6:40 pm #

I am visiting Portland from Iowa and would love to attend the Oregon Brewers Fest as part of my vacation.

  63. Terry Dayton July 15, 2015 at 6:41 pm #

Look forward to the OBF every summer. I fly in from Spokane and spend the day and back at night. Thanks to MAX making it easier to get to the festival from the airport. Nothing like a great summer day on the waterfront, great crowds, and WONDERFUL BEERS!
I fly down with friends and meet more there, sharing beers and having a great time. In the past we have volunteered poring beer, but unable to this year due to time constraints.
    Can’t wait!

  64. Jeri July 15, 2015 at 6:41 pm #

It’s a most amazing event! My son and now daughter in law treated me to my first festival about 6 years ago for my birthday! We had the time of our lives! Since then my husband has joined us every year. My son and daughter in law have had to relocate from Bend to WA due to offices closing here in Bend! Now, my son works in WA while his beautiful wife attends college in Colorado successfully achieving her phD! Oregon Brewfest has become to us a family reunion… We love good beer, all of people, so appreciate all of the volunteers, and love the city of Portland! A win for us would surely be appreciated and be well enjoyed!!!

  65. bri July 15, 2015 at 6:43 pm #

My sister is flying in from Phoenix just for this festival. Winning would make this that much more fun! Can’t wait to attend!

  66. Nichole July 15, 2015 at 6:49 pm #

I live in AZ. This is an annual tradition I have to visit my sister in OR and go to the brewfest …and get away from the scorching AZ desert. I haven’t missed a year since she moved 8 years ago. Can’t wait to enjoy the beautiful Portland weather and delicious beers! Would be awesome if I could enjoy it complements of PDX Pipeline! :). See you there!

  67. Rick July 15, 2015 at 6:51 pm #

I go every year… but won’t be able to sample many beers this year because I’m on a very tight budget right now. :-(

  68. Kathy July 15, 2015 at 6:57 pm #

Three ladies from Illinois, Iowa and Massachusetts traveling to Portland’s brew fest to celebrate a 50th birthday. We are so excited to explore Oregon and the Brew Fest. See everyone next week!

  95. Kristy Alberty July 16, 2015 at 2:24 pm #

    Please pick me, or us?

Actually, my BF got Thursday off to attend the Fest, but because I’m new at my job, I can’t really justify asking for the time off. And, because it’s a long wait for a pour if you arrive after 5pm,
I thought, well, I guess I’ll just skip it this year.

What a TREAT it would be instead, to not only attend, but to have 18 token and a cup and I can relax and not worry about how long this will take or how far my budget will take me.

This is a great event, and I would really love to attend. Hope to hear from you! Cheers! :)

  96. Karen July 16, 2015 at 2:24 pm #

  104. Rick July 16, 2015 at 3:00 pm #

I just moved to Portland, and I have never been to any beer festivals on the west coast. I’ve heard that this is one of the best beer festivals in Oregon, and I want to see how it stacks up to the ones I’ve attended on the east coast.

  105. Anna July 16, 2015 at 3:01 pm #

I would LOVE to win these tickets for my husband. he has been depressed lately and really wants to attend a beer festival but life keeps getting in the way. 114. Lila July 16, 2015 at 4:27 pm #

I’m a lightweight and my boyfriend gives me constant flack for it. He has the strongest tolerance of anyone I’ve ever met. I’d like to “treat” him to a day of drinking beer and get him sloshed for a change. Turnabout is fair play!

  115. Tom July 16, 2015 at 4:36 pm #

I’ve been going since the very first one in 1988. I remember the very first one, it was a cloudy day on Saturday. I’d like to share the event with some friends and my new baby daughter. Obviously, she won’t be drinking, but, maybe one day she will attend on her own!

  116. Ken July 16, 2015 at 4:46 pm #

I went to the Cider Summit and already have tickets to the OR Berry Festival this weekend, so adding on the OR Brewers Festival will round out my summer of eating and drinking!

  117. Devon July 16, 2015 at 4:57 pm #

    Because beer is civilization.

  118. Vicki D'Elia July 16, 2015 at 5:00 pm #

Have been coming to Portland fro AZ now for 7 years. Our short trips never coincided with the Brewfest. Now we are retired we invited friends from AZ to come with us to the Brewfest. Spent some time in Germany where I learned to love beer. Hope to win and show our friends a good time!

  119. Ms Wake July 16, 2015 at 5:00 pm #

I have yet to go to a beer festival (this year)!!

My mouth is watering thinking about the gloriousness that awaits! I switched over this year from wine to beer! Haven’t had that many but stout is my favorite so far! I’ll learn so much at your event! Oh boy!

  125. Stephanie July 16, 2015 at 6:24 pm #

This one happens so close to where I live, and I inevitably get assaulted with the endless temptation of the sounds of the crowd (not to mention the late night drunken spillover when it closes and everyone involved is poured back out into the streets of downtown). It’d be nice to indulge a little, myself, and not just be a listener at the gate.

  126. Luis Herrera July 16, 2015 at 6:48 pm #

Love beer. What better way to find a new favorite!!! Love to win!!!! Awesome giveaway, good luck all!

  134. Anne July 16, 2015 at 8:24 pm #

I have been living in Portland for years and still have never been to any of these many beer festivals that our great city puts on. Maybe this will be my chance to say “hop hop hooray”.

  138. Christine July 16, 2015 at 8:31 pm #

I’ve never been to a brewer’s festival and would love to go to try some local brews!

  139. Jessica July 16, 2015 at 8:51 pm #

My girlfriend and I are coming to PDX for five days from Virginia just because we have never been. The festival would give us such a great start on learning all we can about what makes Portland great!

  147. Heather July 17, 2015 at 7:29 am #

We’re coming from six hours away specifically for The Brewers Festival on Friday, and a concert Saturday…looking forward to a great opportunity to try a ton of delicious beers we don’t get a chance to get our hands on in this po-dunk little town we live in! Long live Beervana!

  148. Bruce July 17, 2015 at 7:31 am #

Never have been….I’d sure love to go! Sounds like an amazing summer event….

  149. Kirsten July 17, 2015 at 7:51 am #

I solemnly swear to wear a pretzel necklace and yell every time someone makes a toast, even though it will embarrass anyone I go with, (because they are lamer than I am and don’t understand the awesome totally not douchey camaraderie of OBF).

  150. Toby Kernan July 17, 2015 at 7:54 am #

Because we are driving all the way over from Idaho to indulge in days of delicious Beervana…Can’t hadly wait!!!

  151. Conrad July 17, 2015 at 8:30 am #

I am working 3 beer fests this year! I love them!! This one would be great to check out as well. Can never go wrong with craft beer!!!

Haven’t been able to make it past couple of years, but its such a great time I gotta go this time!

  153. Amanda July 17, 2015 at 9:19 am #

We went to the festival last year and it was awesome. Hope to win tickets and go again this year!

  154. Caitlyn July 17, 2015 at 9:29 am #

I went last year with only about an your left and most of the beers were tapped out! Looking forward to getting therror earlier this year. Lots of people aND tons of fun!

  155. Jasmine Rain July 17, 2015 at 9:39 am #

Oregon spoils us time and time again, and this festival is a testament to keeping up with my aging figure…that and I love a tasty bubbley adult beverage…daily. Truth be told I really need to start writing for beer magazines as there is not a large presence if women writers on beer. I would love to win tickets as I’ve recently been laid off and realistically should not be frivolous with my funds. And I would take the bus and walk, not even bike. *Dook Dook*

  156. Seth francis July 17, 2015 at 9:54 am #

I’m not as think as you drunk I am
Pour a beer in my ear to keep me queer
Raise a glass, shake your ass, and give me all sass
Hip hip hooray OBF is here!
    Pick me!!

  157. Rebecca July 17, 2015 at 10:19 am #

Just moved here and super excited to be in a place with a serious brewfest!

  158. Ed July 17, 2015 at 11:03 am #

  159. Lynn Elsdon July 17, 2015 at 12:09 pm #

We love BEER at our place and we brag (in a nice way) about Portland beer all the time. We would love to go.

  160. Jeff July 17, 2015 at 12:11 pm #

I am a cyborg sent back in time from the year 2029 to terminate brain cells with copious amounts of tasty craft beer.

I would like to attend this event because my mission depends upon it.

  161. Michelle July 17, 2015 at 12:29 pm #

I have always volunteered so that I could afford to attend this brewfest and the one in the winter. Unfortunately I work many hours at a job the pus very little and no longer have the time to offer. This last year I have gone through a breakup, quitting a job, finding a job, moving, lawsuit, bankruptcy, almost failing out of school, and now I work for so little money that I can’t even buy myself happiness. If you could help me attend something fun like the brewfest, I would really appreciate it. Plus, I can bring my cousin, who is also a long time volunteer. She lost her job this year and can’t afford to attend. I would love to take her.
Please pick me. I need some positivity in my life.

  162. Mikey B July 17, 2015 at 12:31 pm #

This THE highlight of the Portland summer season. Cannot wait to get back!

    yumm. nuff said just yum

  164. Tyler July 17, 2015 at 1:12 pm #

I’d love to win tickets! I have missed this for like 4 years because we’re always out of town. This year, I put it on the calendar so that we made sure to be in town. My wife just got laid off last week so I can’t justify paying to go to this until she finds a job. Putting food on the table for my kids is more important than me drinking beer and having a good time.

  165. Kerrieann July 17, 2015 at 1:59 pm #

Would love to win tickets to this years OBF! This is the best brew festival that is hosted annually in Portland!

  166. Allie July 17, 2015 at 2:43 pm #

Well, I am going anyways, but going for free would be so much better!

  167. Renata July 17, 2015 at 3:20 pm #

Beer is proof that the Gods love us and want us to be happy!

  168. Kirk Heims July 17, 2015 at 5:17 pm #

I want to (continue to) expand my palette and explore Portland’s front edge of brewers concoctions:) Cheers!

  169. Bobbi Jo July 17, 2015 at 5:58 pm #

I love craft beer!!! I grew up in ND, where people either drank Bud or Coors, then fell in love with specialty craft beer and microbreweries in Boston. I’m new to Portland and already falling in love with the beer scene here! I would love to be able to attend this event and share the love of specialty beer!

  170. Jenny July 17, 2015 at 7:23 pm #

I LOVE this festival!! So much wonderful beer, and so much good energy! It’s a blast!

I enjoy winning contests and raffles even though I can’t recall the last tie I was blessed with LadyLuck. OBF is a favorite summer event for me and I would love to attend again. I have SERVED many times and will be volunteering again this year. The thought of increasing my token purse and actually winning something for once would be a great surprise.

Beer from Persia would be a nice addition next year.

    Probst!

…BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY!! (holy moly, i’m turning 40!)

  179. Steve Eberhard July 19, 2015 at 8:21 am #

Because as Otto Weischurchen, Blitz Weinhard’s brewmaster back in the 80’s told me when I asked him what his favorite beer was, he said “the one in front of me!”

I’ve taken his advice to heart… Help me keep Otto’s memory alive!

  180. LoganE July 19, 2015 at 9:04 am #

maybe going to this event will interest me in craft beer, as of now I am a miller light, colors light man but it may be time for a change? :)

The Oregon Brewers Festival is one of my favorite events in Portland. I attended the festival for the first time when I was visiting Portland in 2011. The event seemed to uniquely Portland. There are so many great beer options and friendly people just enjoying a love for good beer together. I just loved the atmosphere of the event. Now that I live in Portland, this is an event I marked on my calendar at the beginning of the year.

  183. Courtney July 19, 2015 at 11:16 am #

    Oregon beer? Yes, please.

  184. Ted July 19, 2015 at 11:17 am #

I would love to attend the brewers fest because I’m a server, and love to taste and learn about different styles of beer. Unfortunately I’m unemployed at the moment, so I definitely cannot spend money on non-necessities like this event.

  198. Chelsie Kilian July 20, 2015 at 9:24 am #

Would love to check out this Brewfest. My sister from Atlanta is visiting and it would be fun to check out something different this weekend. Also any event in Portland is usually a blast!

  199. John Gilles July 20, 2015 at 5:25 pm #

I would love to attend the 2015 Oregon Brewers Festival because I’m visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area, where American craft brewing was born, and I’d like to see how the best brews of the Northwest stack up against our Bay Area classics like Anchor Steam.

  200. Lynn July 22, 2015 at 5:44 am #

The Oregon Brewer’s fest is one of the few events I look forward to each year. My brothers and I, all avid local brewery fans, could always use a few more tokens.

  206. Missy July 23, 2015 at 3:58 pm #

  207. Tabitha Sears July 24, 2015 at 8:14 am #

  208. Wayne Ferrell July 24, 2015 at 9:11 pm #

Twenty or more years ago I attended the Oregon Brewers Festival and recognized Micheal Jackson
( yes, THE Michael Jackson) wandering around by himself tasting beers. He was very approachable and friendly. We had a nice conversation. I told him he’d tasted my homebrew in a Colorado competition where he served as a judge. I asked him if he ever imagined as a young man that he would grow up to be a famous globe traveling beer writer. His response, “No, I thought I’d be driving a lorry like me dad.”

  209. Shannon July 28, 2015 at 8:02 pm #

Everybody loves beer (duh) so I won’t try and weasel into free tickets by professing how much I love it (although I truly do). I will simply say this: I probably am not the hugest beer fan on this page, but people who drink beer love to be around this little lady. I’d be a fantastic addition to the festival for drunk people to profess their deepest secrets to, trip over, smile at, or just plain talk to, and I’ll take it all in stride. Yay beer. Please pick me. Lord I’m so broke.
