Dating! The dance of romance with a twist of chance, sometimes it works and sometimes it tanks.
Whether through OK Cupid, set up by friends, finally mustering the courage to ask out your co-worker or a getting a casual phone number at the bar, dating has flavors and textures all it’s own. It’s a time when reality seems is suspended and we can see the best – and often the worst – in each other.
On Saturday, June 6th, Portland Playback Theater wants to hear your stories and explore this theme with the show: Adventures in Dating: From Nirvana to Nightmare and Every Crazy Encounter in Between! In this performance we will look at the good, the bad, the strange and the passionate about dating.
“Dating can yield a complete life change, a relationship, maybe a life-partner,” says Jackie Paris, Director of the Portland Playback Theater Troupe. “It can also bring about an awkward encounter with a complete stranger, to put it nicely. Or something in between. Either way, we want your juiciest and most outrageous dating stories. Please bring us your words as Playback Theater is all about YOUR story. Come join the community and explore this topic with artistry, safety, and respect.”
This show will invite you to share your best and worst dating stories. These stories may be intimate, funny, embarrassing, awkward, amazing or troubling.
Come join the community and explore this topic with artistry, trust, play and respect. Let’s see what can be created together! Let’s watch!
