Funhouse Lounge is proud to present “Buffy! A Parody Musical”, a live stage parody of the 1992 cult classic film Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Buffy Summers was just a normal Southern California high school cheerleader, planning dances and shopping at the mall with her friends. Then a stranger appeared, and she learned she was “the chosen one”, destined to battle bloodsuckers from beyond the grave. Funhouse Lounge is presenting its unique take on this classic 80’s story, jammed to the max with humor, dance numbers, pop culture references, a totally rad eighties soundtrack for songs and lyrics, and even a glittering, brooding Edward Cullen. C’mon down and see how a girl takes care of business when the ‘stakes’ are high.

Directed by Trenton Shine
Starring Landy Steckman, Sean Lamb, Trenton Shine, Michael Teufel, Anthony McCarthy, Kate Rosalie, Katie McFarland, Hanz Eleveld,Colton Ruscheinsky, and Andy Barrett

The show is rated “PG13” but is open to all ages.

I have to see this. Brings me back to my 7th grade days. Ahhh, good ol’ 1997. Wow, has it really been 18 years already? Spike is still hot though, fyi.

First trip to Portland and first solo vacation with no kids in years! It’d be rad to also get some theater in to the mix while I’m there. Especially Buffy parody theater.

  8. Lou Xavier May 6, 2015 at 11:58 am #

I would so love to see this! A comedy musical AND vampires?! How could you possibly go wrong with that? I am a lifetime Portlander and have not had the proper chance to really take in much of the theater, though it is something I love. Something unique and awesome like this would be such a great treat.

“Buffy” is a time capsule of my teen years. I loved the soundtrack. I also wanted to fight vampires in 1992. Seeing this would be a nice flight back to a simpler time for me. Thank you for the opportunity.

    Be excellent to each other.

  33. Jenna May 18, 2015 at 11:26 am #

I am from southern California and i think i’ve watched the movie 200 times. I can definitely recite every line in it. Kristy Swanson’s mom even worked at me sister’s school and I always wanted to pick her up to get close to the woman that created Buffy!! I should definately win tickets. “does the word Duh mean anything to you?”
PS “does elvis talk to you? does he tell you to do things? do you see spots?”
