Treat your Mom to a fun the whole family can enjoy w/ to a city wide scavenger hunt, which turns Portland into a giant game board!

Urban Adventure Quest has created an interactive scavenger hunt that combines the fun of the Amazing Race with a three-hour sightseeing tour of Portland. Guided from any smart phone, groups make their way among well-known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history.

The adventure begins in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square and takes you on a journey to see the best sights of the city. From the Arts district to Powell’s bookstore and Voodoo Doughnuts … as well as amazing stops in between, you will enjoy all that Portland has to offer. The tour requires approximately 2.4 miles of walking and you will also experience the city’s famous street cars.

Using a smart phone as “the guide” allows participants to start when they want and determine their own pace of play. Stop to enjoy lunch or take in the sights… why not, it’s your schedule? Offered at a fixed price for a group vs. per person pricing, this city tour/game offers a great value to those on a budget.

I have done a scavenger hunt that involved local history before, at my old job that was on a historic campus. It was SO MUCH fun, and I learned more than I expected. I would love to go with my son on a history adventure scavenger hunt in what will always be my son’s home town (I’m a military brat with no home town of my own).

In a time saturated with Minecraft and Pokemon, finding real life activities that intrigue and motivate my 9 year old can be challenging at times! However, a scavenger hunt are something he has loved since he was very little, and we enjoy making them up for each other on a regular basis around the house. Having a full scale city hunt would be so fun for us and I would love to spend a day out in Portland with him to learn more about our awesome city!
