  103. Kailash January 29, 2015 at 5:19 pm #

After spening countless hours on a plane, nothing tells you that you have arrived on home ground but that carpet. It’s a great feeling after a long or short journey.

  104. Eric January 29, 2015 at 5:20 pm #

I would like this t-shirt to hide my fallen pecs. Everyone at work keeps saying, put on a shirt already!

Sad to see the carpet go!

  116. Ron T January 29, 2015 at 8:30 pm #

I’m impressed by all the steps Portland is taking in the preservation of so many
individual memories. I’d enjoy winning this t-shirt, but, moreover, I’d like to know who manufactured a carpet that lasted oh, so long. Now that’s durability.

  117. Adrienne January 29, 2015 at 9:29 pm #

I should win this shirt because I was born and raised in Portland, and JUST (less than a year) moved to San diego. So Portland is my home, I’m one of the few that actually lived there my whole life, but it’s no longer my home so I need something to remember it by! :)

  118. Dawn January 29, 2015 at 9:30 pm #

If only our roads could last like this carpet!! After working in many other parts of the country, and the world too, seeing this pattern always made me know I had come home. Good memories those!

  119. beth January 29, 2015 at 10:01 pm #

I’m leavin’ on a jet plane…in my new pdx carpet shirt!

  123. Irene Lee January 30, 2015 at 8:05 am #

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night. I hate to go and leave this pretty sight. I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly. So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye. I bid you carpet a sweet farewell.

  124. Marco January 30, 2015 at 8:05 am #

Having felt walked on the past 34 years in Portland… a PDX Tee sounds liked fair payback!

This is ridiculous, but I love it!

    MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  134. Tyleen Johnson January 31, 2015 at 7:48 pm #

I was hesitant to sit on the floor to get a great selfie with the old, dead carpet. On the flipside, my chest would rock that T ;-)

  135. Erich February 1, 2015 at 2:56 pm #

This carpet is one of a kind! I’d be honored to be chosen to show respect for such an awesome thing. Going to miss this carpet. PDX won’t be the same.

  136. CP February 2, 2015 at 8:08 am #

the carpet was laid on PDX floors
To welcome guests and those on tours
It was a reminder to us returning from trips
We had the best food, people and hoppy sips
So now this trusty sight below my shoes
Will be honoured on a tee–I hope I don’t lose!!!

  137. Rae February 2, 2015 at 2:22 pm #

That is Absolutely Crazy! However; can’t help myself to do anything other than Absolutely *Luv It*!! :):):) #♥PDXWILDCARPET!!!

  138. Valerie February 2, 2015 at 8:04 pm #

I think wearing this shirt is a better representation than taking a picture of the carpet and your feet to post on Instagram.

  139. Karen Cradler February 3, 2015 at 11:59 am #

The old carpet is so much better than the new carpet.

  140. Megan February 4, 2015 at 9:59 am #

When a good friend leaves this world, you honor their memory. What better way to honor the PDX carpet then to memorialize it on the body of the PDX Carpet’s BIGGEST fan… my PDX-obsessed boss! Please let me that brown-noser I am dying to be. Thank you.

I would wear it every day of my life.

The PDX Airport has been like a second home to me all my life, I would wear this t-shirt with pride if I won it.

A great man once said, ” I believe I can fly.”

To me, these words were always a reality – of course I could fly! PDX is fifteen minutes from my house! I could hop on a plane and touch the sky – no dreaming involved.

However, times have changed. Where once was certainty, there is now uncertainty. Where was hope, now hopelessness. I dare not even dream of touching the sky, because without the familiar patterns of our beloved PDX carpet to support me, there is no hope. This has been my reality these last two weeks – a perpetual state of hopelessness.

Now, reading about this garment, I can see the faintest glimpse of the reality I once knew. Maybe, just maybe, this shirt would enable me to fly again. Maybe, just maybe I will let myself dream about it every night and day.

Do I deserve such elegant attire? No. That which has covered millions of people’s dreams by just gallivanting upon it deserves a much greater fate than covering my nipples.

Still. While I don’t deserve this, I can hope. Now, I can dare to dream again.

I believe I CAN fly. I believe I CAN touch the sky…please, make my dreams come true.

A dip in the drink makes a shirt shrink… but not the PDX tee!

What a great way to remember our famous carpet and to show people how great (and weird)Portland is! What other city in the entire world would think to commemorate their airport’s carpet? We are so original here!

  169. Sue H. February 9, 2015 at 9:18 am #
