I have a friend in Lynchburg, Virginia who has played guitar since he was two years old. He and his Bluegrass revelers have spent countless hours perfecting their songs. I can no longer travel to see my old friend, and thus, here I am begging for tickets from you.

The last time I saw anything musical I had an awful time. Being a Libra I need to have this balance thing or I’ll tip right over. Yes, you wouldn’t like to see that happen, would you? No, I dare say, it wouldn’t be pretty. Not as pretty as my possible date, the illegitimate daughter of some forgotten Appalachian Trail musician of yesteryear. Why, that woman would skin me and hang me like a raccoon on the nearest tree if I say I have no moonshine nor tickets. She fiddles around with my ties and occasionally, her fiddle, and once she out-fiddled the Devil himself with her fiddle-faddle.

Titillate my Appalachian Trail woman and me. Pick us, and I’ll send gift certificates to buy old books at Rapunzel’s Bookstore (located between C-Ville and Lynchburg, VA).

    Thanks y’all.

An evening of country, folk and classical Christmas songs, sounds like my cup of tea. What a fun evening of music to celebrate the season. My toes are tapping already. I would love to go and escape to a delightful evening of fun.

  14. Jamie December 10, 2014 at 11:18 pm #

This sounds just divine. Roots music really gets me. I haven’t heard much by the way of Christmas roots, and would simply love to check this out.

  15. Ana Rojas December 10, 2014 at 11:38 pm #

My daughter is learning to play the violin and her teacher mention to her about the concert which she feels it would help inspire my daughter to keep trying when she gets frustrated trying to play this beautiful music.

Haven’t seen Mark live since the 80s in Tennessee. Would love to see him!

    Dear PDX Pipeline,

Thanks once again for providing your subscribers with an opportunity to enjoy an evening that I’m sure will be memorable for all of the right reasons.

Being a fan of all things melodic, I’m sure that there’s more than just the distant blood knot that keeps me tied to Mr. O’Connor and his work.

Having followed his musical trails via LP, cassette, CD and MP3 (and enjoying the journey), it would be exceedingly fun to see how much fire is actually in those fingertips and how it translates into the realm of a live performance.

Have a great remainder of your week and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

    All the best,

Sitting here in the dark, power is out from the wind. Doing our best to celebrate my wife’s 66th birthday tonight with nothing but candlelight is not all bad. But, it would certainly lighten her up if we were to be given the tickets to the show.

  26. Clementine December 11, 2014 at 7:35 pm #

I’m a native Appalachian and music sustains me. I’d really appreciate this show. Thank you!

I sit here this rainy evening, have dealt with doctors and hospice and a sick mom, seeing clients, and trying to cook for visiting family–and the idea of an evening of beautiful music sounds like a fairy tale with a happy ending.
