Motherlode is a 10 piece funk train hailing from the beautiful north coast of California in the redwoods of Humboldt County.

Since the band’s inception in 2012 these funky pioneers have been blazing the trail and sharing the stage with such legends as Fred Wesley, Bill Summers and DJ Logic. The band features all three on their new album, “All in Good Time”. The sound like equal parts 70′s soundtrack—funk ala James Brown– and The Funky Meters. Add a dash of Fela Kuti and a bit of Daptone-like soul and you hit the Motherlode.

Bend’s Elektrapod is an ideal opener for a band of this funk magnitude. They bring their soul-driven dance cuts to the stage for your first drink.

The Goodfoot is surely the place for This sort of Funk explosion! 10 pieces you say?? Yes please!! There simply is Not enough Funk in the world. Portland needs the Funk nightly! A huge thanks, in advance, to Motherlode, for bringing this most needed dose of Awesome!

This also must be said: Bend is rad. Therefore, I would have to speculate that a band from Bend would be held to that level of rad. Elektrapod – looking forward to it!

    STOKED !! !! !!!!!

My wife and I checked out The Goodfoot for the first time on Halloween. It was so much better than the Crystal Ballroom or Holocene. We could handle some more soul… jump back!
