Julian Casablancas+The Voidz will release their anticipated debut titled Tyranny this September 23 on Casablancas’ own Cult Records. A digital pre-order priced at $3.87 is available now on along with a third and final video teaser installment comprised of music and live tour footage.

Written and recorded over the past year, the album features Casablancas and Voidz band members Jeramy Gritter and Amir Yaghmai (Salt & Pepper) – guitar, Jeff Kite – keyboards, Jake Bercovici – bass, Alex Carapetis – drums and was produced by Shawn Everett.

The album incorporates world underground music from the 70s and 80s, hardcore/punk and modern harmony, using modern and analog recording and sampling techniques. Of the album’s title Casablancas says, “Tyranny has come in many forms throughout history. Now, the good of business is put above anything else, as corporations have become the new ruling body. Most decisions seem to be made like ones of a medieval king: whatever makes profit while ignoring and repressing the truth about whatever suffering it may cause (like pop music, for that matter).”

Julian Casablancas+The Voidz will begin their first ever “American tour to melt peoples’ faces off” as Casablancas describes, here in the U.S. on Thursday, October 16 in Philadelphia, PA. Other cities include Seattle, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and of course Portland.

I want to go to see Julian because 1) I have been a fan of his music since middle school (2004), 2) I will have worked 12 days straight until Tuesday morning and this will be a great way to celebrate the end of that streak and 3) I have another friend who would love to go! Crossing my fingers for these tickets!! :D

I’ve loved the Strokes ever since 7th grade! (Which for me was about 12 years ago) Whenever Julian comes into town, I always have work or some other engagement, so I’d love to finally catch him! Plus if we’re being real, I’m a broke college student so I can’t really drop $60 out of nowhere. Pick meee

i named my leather jacket my "julian" after julian casablancas, like a little girl who names her bear madonna and puts lipstick on it before she goes to sleep.

i would be obliged to accept these tickets. i dont know your picking process, but i would like to ensure you, that if you want to give the tickets to the best candidate, i am your guy. if you need mugshots, nude poses, any sort of fanhood affirmations, feel free to email me.

    ill be available.

    thank you
