Hands down the number #1 haunted attraction in Oregon by size, ratings and popularity, FrightTown is three huge haunted houses together, beneath the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Rose Quarter.

Our three haunts offer something for every scare-seeker! The longest running haunted house in Oregon, BARON VON GOOLO’S MUSEUM OF HORRORS returns with its trademark menagerie of ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties. You may survive the man-eating plants and killer clowns, but nothing can prepare you for Baron’s latest exhibit, Anti Claus’ Sweaty Lap Of Holiday Misery!

Last year’s smash hit based on the works of horror author H.P. Lovecraft, FrightTown presents THE MADNESS, an immersive descent into a world of tentacled, cosmic horror where mankind is food at best.

New this year is THE WITCH HOUSE, located in the F.Y.F.S Warehouse, a long deserted and burnt out skeleton of a building where a demonic cult has holed up to practice their witchcraft in the dark, secret halls. It is your mission to enter the warehouse after S.W.A.T. teams have failed to report back, and verify the rumors of cultists savagely maiming and killing any outsiders that dare to interrupt their conjuring.

FrightTown is open every Wednesday through Sunday starting October 3rd, with a special night on November 1st for DIA DE LOS MUERTOS. Weekends can be very popular so to take advantage of the shortest lines, please come early in the evening, and/or on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

We do not have posted age restrictions but, come on, we’re a haunted house. FrightTown may be too intense for young children and there are no refunds. It’s like Baron Von Goolo has always said, you can pay for a babysitter tonight or a therapist tomorrow.

Art Show: As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, FrightTown is bringing back its own Art Show, curated by Sequential Art Gallery. In between getting the bejeezus scared out of them, haunt-goers can enjoy a juried, horror-themed art show.

My husband would LOVE to go to something like this; what a nice surprise it would be for him if I won tickets. We’re new to Portland and didn’t know this amazing event existed. So glad we found PDX Pipeline so we can learn about all the cool things happening in this amazing town :D

    • Evan October 11, 2014 at 12:06 pm #

Lived here for three years and have yet to attend.

  3. Honor October 8, 2014 at 3:33 pm #

The one time I got to take my kids was with my mother several years ago. They had such a great time getting scared and screaming. They’re not really feeling Halloween this year and I know going to fright town would really boost their spooky spirits!

  4. Cari A October 8, 2014 at 3:34 pm #

First off thank you for not making the math equation necessary to be able to reply to this too difficult…three+blank=7. Fingers crossed I nailed it!!! OK, Back to “Fright Night” tickets…on behalf of my 12 year old son who I took last year and have not quit hearing (since the very minute we made it out alive) about how we HAVE to go this year, I am on my knees begging. Not a pretty sight but a Mom will do almost anything for her children. So pretty, pretty please, with an evil clown on top, let us win the tickets. Thank you!!! :-)

  5. Tami Boyce October 8, 2014 at 3:36 pm #

I have never been to a haunted house, and I think I might be brave enough to do it now. It would be a great way to kick off the fall of my senior year!

  9. Joe Ball October 8, 2014 at 5:27 pm #

Free tickets to a good haunted house is a real leg-up; considering what night lights and new underwear cost in this economy. Send us eagerly to our doom!

  10. Shannon October 8, 2014 at 7:42 pm #

Please pick me! :-) I would really love to go!

  16. Denis Mortenson October 9, 2014 at 8:16 am #

My shrink says I need to scare the living hell out of myself because I am possessed by the spirits of undead accountants. How this happened is convoluted, but let us just say that without your free tickets I will become one of the undead, and spend the remainder of my working days staring at the walls of my gray cubicle. You don’t want that to happen, do you? Show me you care. Show me you want me to dance on one of those pole dancer type platforms in glittery disco shoes, proclaiming, (through a small hand held megaphone) “I am alive!” Just this morning I looked in the mirror and saw the beginnings of the blue-green skin tone showing through the facade of Mr. Happy. Please, for the love of God, or the beings of the Nether World, let me feel the fresh warm flow of blood in my veins again. Tell me I’ve won before they close the lid on my worm eaten coffin (again).

  17. Aubri October 9, 2014 at 8:31 am #

Halloween is my favorite holiday! I must go to this haunted extravaganza!! Pick me, oh, pick me.

  47. Amy Pogue October 9, 2014 at 3:29 pm #

The hubs and I work from home, and we work a lot. Sometimes the highlight of our day is going to the grocery store…yeah. We need to win so that we can break out of the routine and have the living daylights scared out of us! We need to experience a blood-curdling scream, to see fangs and blood, and to fear a witch staring through our souls! We will scream and we will do it loudly. In fact, people around us will wonder if we are hired screamers. Little children will tug at their mother’s sleeve and ask “Why are they screaming so loudly, Mom?” And she’ll reply, “Those people stare at their laptops all day, sweetie. They are completely unaccustomed to the outside world.” Help us, PDX Pipeline, help us to get our of our apartment and into freaky FrightTown!

  48. Tracei October 9, 2014 at 3:35 pm #

I used to work in haunted houses wayyyy back when and enjoy going to them just as much now. My hubby and I were married on Halloween as Frankenstein and The Bride of. It would be great to visit on our 21st Anniversary.

Quite a few years ago (let’s just leave it at that.), my friend Wendy and I first met at our new job, shortly before October. We realized we had a shared interest in the beginning of that month when we both returned to work talking about the haunted houses we saw that weekend.

I don’t quite know how it turned into a competition.

By the end of that month, we’d gone to 26 haunted houses between us. And its seems like they’ve gotten a little more popular these days, because toward the end of that month, we were venturing 80+ miles out of Portland just to win that dang contest. This while I’ll never forget that this was Fright town’s first year.

This year -well, its been tough. We’ve both had some employment woes. So there’s no extra cash for either of us. We’ve lost some friends to cancer. And one of Wendy’s kids was nearly killed this summer.

I wish I could take Wendy to Fright Town this Halloween. It’d make her day, and she deserves to have something good to happen to her. It’d be nice to share a haunted house with the one friend who loves them as much as I do.

I’ve never been to Frighttown (or any haunted house in Portland) and it would be a blast to be spooked (and find out how chicken my friends are.)

I am a single mom to a five month old boy. I have been working seven days a week since he was 10 weeks old. I am currently finishing out my last shift at my second job TODAY and decided to look at this Events Calendar and see whats out there for me to do now that I FINALLY have a day off and a new life to celebrate. This weekend will be the first weekend off in MONTHS and I would die to kick it off doing something I’ve only ever heard about and never experienced. =)

I’m the biggest wuss when it comes to scary things, but I weirdly love it when I get scared! Haunted houses are one of my favorite things to do on Halloween- the fear is strangely awesome.
