Conor Oberst is an American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska. He has been writing and recording music since 1993.

In that time he has recorded and performed in many bands and musical collaborations including Commander Venus, Monsters of Folk, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, Park Ave., Desaparecidos, and most notably Bright Eyes, his main musical vehicle for the past decade. His new solo album, Upside Down Mountain, is out on May 19 via Nonesuch Records.

Jonathan Wilson
Fanfare, the second full-length from acclaimed artist and producer Jonathan Wilson, was released in October 2013 via Downtown Records.

With 2011’s critically-lauded debut, Gentle Spirit, audiences worldwide were introduced to the prodigious talents of singer, songwriter, record producer and unrivaled guitar hero Jonathan Wilson. Gentle Spirit was celebrated for its authentic exploration and modern updating of the “Laurel Canyon sound”.

Wilson’s follow-up, Fanfare, was recorded over a 9-month period at his Fivestar Studios in Los Angeles and features contributions from Graham Nash, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty), Wilco’s Patrick Sansone, Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The album is an ambitious, epically grandiose rock production that has conjured notions of Dennis Wilson’s Pacific Ocean Blue amongst more than one music journalist.

Tickets could really turn my karma around and be a more attractive alternative to a pity party. First day of college was bad: late to class, lost my card, my money, my phone died, and I got home by the skin of my teeth. Lo and behold, I had a ‘no good very bad day’… so I listened to “Lua” by Bright Eyes. Crazy enough, I saw this post. It’d be awesome to see them here in Portland; a certain, personal thank you for lifting a girl’s spirits. Thanks guys.

My girlfriend and I had every intention of buying tickets to this incredible show. However, a series of unforeseen events has sadly forced us to conserve our funds, and pretend like this show isn’t happening. Every time we hear a friend talk about how excited they are to go, we discretely shove kleenex in our ears and shutter at this reminder. Of course on the grand scale of planetary suffering, our pain over not seeing Oberst and Wilson perform isn’t as bad as say, ebola. And while we intellectually understand this contrast, the sadness is still omnipresent. Can you find it in your giant heart to gift us the unforgettable experience of see TWO of our FAVORITE performers, in our favorite venue? Karma will flow infinitely in your direction <3
