The countdown to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil continues as Thirsty Lion prepares for a packed house of global soccer fans and one of the world’s greatest tournaments. The matches begin Thursday, June 12th and run through July 13th and both the downtown Portland and Washington Square locations will be opening up at 9am for all the early matches.

OMSI is bringing the action to fans and science lovers alike with larger-than-life matches in the Empirical and in Theory eatery. Cartlandia will be showing all the World Cup games Live in The Blue Room Bar, a new venue just opened in April offering specials for the whole world Cup experience. Open 8 am – 2:30 am for World cup. $4 pints of craft beer during games and a special of burger, fries and a beer for $10 all month. Designed by a professional soccer player, The Blue Room Bar has 5 big screen TVs , 18 taps, full cocktail menu, performance space, and collection of soccer memorabilia. It was built with classic materials salvaged from an 1910 bar, 1860’s church, and a Portland pipe organ.
