World Forestry Center Discovery Museum

You’re invited to a sneak preview of “The Art of Dr. Seuss” exhibit before it opens to the public at Museum by Moonlight on Thursday, May 22. This rare glimpse into the artistic life of Theodor Seuss Geisel features rare and never-before-seen works from the 1920’s to 1990’s.

Tickets Include:

  • 2 drink tickets
  • Heavy hors d’oeuvres
  • All attendees will be entered for a chance to win a framed limited edition print by Dr Seuss from the Shaffer Fine Art Gallery valued at $800!
  • Special Exhibit catalogue given to the first 150 attendees.

Celebrating the life and art of Theodor Seuss Geisel, this exhibit chronicles his life and career with a focus on the common artistic links throughout his nearly 70 years of creativity. See Seuss’s classic illustration art from The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle, and The Lorax, as well as early magazine covers, advertising pieces, war commentary, his whimsical unorthodox taxidermy, and an amazing assortment of larger-than-life bronze sculptures!

    I’ve been a HUGE fan of Dr Seuss since I first read Green Eggs and Ham at the age of six! That makes this my 50th anniversary year. Needless to say, winning tickets to this Museum by Moonlight event would truly be Golden!!!

    Arguably one of the most prolific American writers of the 20th Century, I’ve used Dr. Seuss in a paper or two in school for his political unwritings. I would love to show my appreciation in person with fellow Seussical friends!

    I missed the Dr. Seuss Shaffer gallery exhibit two years ago and regret that very much. Plus I have never been to the World Forestry Center and have wanted to see it. I know it recreates the Forestry Building from the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition. There are very few buildings left from that so to see it is to see Portland history. I really hope I can have a chance to see both.
