::Just People::
Just People are the dedicated offspring of a generation of movers and shakers. The band has drawn comparisons to artists throughout the genre spectrum from Pearl Jam and The Flaming Lips to The Talking Heads and Cat Stevens. One thing is for certain, Darcy Wallace of the Oregon Voice states: “Just People are tough to pin down, but damn it, it just sounds so good.”

::Otis Heat::
A sultry combination of rock, soul and just enough funk to get your engine running. Like the partition between your prom limo driver, Otis Heat gives you permission to get handsy.

AfroQBen is a multi-instrumentalist inspired by the West Coast electronic scene and an on going addiction to crate digging. Drawing from a wide palette of sonic colors, AfroQBen will be playing his afro-cuban, funk, reggae and hip-hop twists on Prom classics.

Skip vonKuske is a founding/featured member of Portland Cello Project and Vagabond Opera known for his virtuosic skills as a cello soloist/collaborator.

Cellotronik is about ground up building of acoustic elements: cello, guitar, mandolin, and electronic elements: iphone sounds, internal beats, and software based beats.

Performing both wholly original pieces coupled with unique takes on covers ranging from Bach to Daft Punk, cellotronik showcases both vonKuske’s extraordinary skill with his instruments and his looper.

I would love to take my boyfriend to the prom!

  2. OllyJ April 22, 2014 at 9:50 am #

I want to finally go to a prom where no one will get pregnant that night! Thanks PP!

  3. Elizabeth April 22, 2014 at 10:44 am #

I sadly have not attended a prom :'(. I am constantly reminded of it as well as I work for a clothing store that sales prom dress, so I would like a cool story to tell my coworkers and customers!

  4. Greg April 22, 2014 at 11:48 am #

I asked my long time girlfriend if she would go to prom with me, early on in our relationship, as sort of a cute little pick up line. To this day I haven’t delivered, in all 4yrs of our relationship. She still brings it up “when are you taking me to prom?” – help.

  5. Krissy April 22, 2014 at 2:36 pm #

because I was never the cool kid…

  6. Melissa Kaylene April 22, 2014 at 2:59 pm #

I would love to attend this! I never attended my Prom and would love to bring my husband and share this experience with him!

  7. Tracy April 22, 2014 at 7:21 pm #

I would like to go because I didn’t get to go to mine as I was working and pregnant with my first child. Would love to go to the prom with the man of my dreams (whom I would have went with back then had things been different)

  8. Michael E Ashland April 22, 2014 at 11:37 pm #

I wasn’t a cool kid and went to my own proms and a lot of others. Buy a fuckin’ tuxedo and, VOILA, you’re ready to go for every woman who needs a formal date.

Still rockin’ the tux, but cool enough for one more prom. Let’s do this.

  9. sara April 23, 2014 at 8:27 am #

this is my lady-friends birthday weekend and our plans fell through! This would be PERFECT

  10. Sasha Steiner April 24, 2014 at 10:02 am #

Because I never got to attend prom with my true love and best friend since we met when we were older… It would be amazing to relive it.

  11. grant April 24, 2014 at 10:55 am #

  14. Kimi April 24, 2014 at 2:57 pm #

I have a prom dress sitting in my closet just wasting away…

  15. Stephen April 24, 2014 at 3:00 pm #

Oh man how I wish I could redo prom night D:
I would buy one of those tux t-shirts for this… and donate to Planned Parenthood. They’ve helped both me and my wife in the past. This is a great event!

  16. Carly April 24, 2014 at 3:02 pm #

    I’d love to go…dreams come true I hear. :)

  18. Mathew April 24, 2014 at 3:22 pm #

Prom was a blast in high school but something tells me I’d like it better as a 21+ event….

    ;) help me find out?

  19. Ezel April 24, 2014 at 3:31 pm #

Yayyyy! I hope I lose my virginity this time. ;o

  20. Get me to the prom! April 24, 2014 at 3:50 pm #

Because anyone who says they don’t care about prom, actually secretly does. Come on! Picture it: you pull up in a white stallion of a limo, you got fine-ass honey’s with you, you’re dressed to the nines with your best buds. Doves fly out behind you, slow motion. Why doves? Cause doves make you look like a bad-ass, that’s why!

  21. Brianna April 24, 2014 at 4:06 pm #

I came across the flyer for Portland’s Prom today and I’d LOVE to attend with my boyfriend! Please choose us. :)

  27. J April 24, 2014 at 8:32 pm #

  34. Andrea April 25, 2014 at 6:43 pm #

I never went to any prom, despite me being asked all four years. I was against it, idealistically. But now? Hell yes! Sign me up! I want to see what I missed now that I’m not 16 and full of acne. Please please please pick me!

  35. Ilesha April 26, 2014 at 12:20 pm #

Aww! This would be wonderful to go to!

  36. Rebecca April 27, 2014 at 1:49 pm #

I went to prom with my sort-of boyfriend…but we had broken up a few days prior so it was full of tears and mixed emotions. Now, a prom re-do would be the most ideal thing!!!

  37. zoe April 28, 2014 at 1:17 pm #

YES PLEASE!!! My best friend will be in town and we actually went to prom together in high school – I would love to take her again!! :)

  38. Heather April 28, 2014 at 2:14 pm #

As a high school teacher who chaperones prom every year, for the last 12, I’d realllllyyyy like to be the one to dress up pretty and drink the spiked punch!

  39. Caty April 28, 2014 at 10:35 pm #

I just moved here from Florida and would love to attend an event such as this to meet new people and make friends! Also any excuse to don formal wear, ne?

  40. Wendy April 30, 2014 at 8:58 am #

I never got to go to prom and my girlfriend went to prom with a boy. Yuck! I’d love to take her so that I can experience the great American prom and so she can experience it with a hot girlfriend groping her instead of a smelly boy groping her.

  41. Kimi May 1, 2014 at 3:21 pm #

I never went to prom… but I DO already have a pretty prom dress I can wear!

  42. Alan May 1, 2014 at 3:26 pm #

Awww…. I helped organize the first queer prom at Portland State, back in the mid 90s, and I would love to attend one more prom – with the sweetest, best guy I know.

  43. Scott May 1, 2014 at 4:36 pm #

This sounds like so much fun.

  44. joe cowan May 1, 2014 at 5:27 pm #

    The Prom….Me…

  45. kaitlin May 1, 2014 at 7:11 pm #

    I wish I’d known my husband when I went to prom 10 years ago – but it’s not too late for me to take him now!! :}

  46. Dave G. May 1, 2014 at 8:01 pm #

I’ve never been to a prom, but with this line-up, I’d go in a heartbeat…and I have the perfect “date” to bring!

  47. Lauren May 1, 2014 at 9:34 pm #

I support all the wonderful things planned parenthood does for our community and I have heard this prom is a blast! I want to go!!!!

  48. Kelli May 2, 2014 at 7:08 am #

Man, PP has helped many a teenage couple post prom. I’d do prom all over again to support the fabulous Planned Parenthood team. Let’s do it for you this time.

  49. Andrea May 2, 2014 at 8:08 am #

This would be so fun! My husband and I didn’t ever have a first dance (or any dancing) at our wedding, so this would be a blast to go to together!

  50. free May 2, 2014 at 12:48 pm #

i would like to go to this prom because this time i won’t make the mistake of renting a stupid limo.

  51. Lauren May 4, 2014 at 7:24 pm #
