For this evening producer/DJ/classical violinist Mr. Moo will be putting together a brand new set of sensual, dubby downtempo tunes drawing on classic Bollywood and Bhangra samples from the record vaults of Anjali and The Kid. GUDA will be sitting in on tabla.

Mr. Moo hails from the forested hills of the NW. A Portland, OR native, Mr. Moo experienced fiddle music from all over the world: hungarian, tango, indian, klezmer, and gypsy. A Mr. Moo performance pulls heavily on sounds from all over the world, samples of music from different cultures and time-periods, all stitched together with live violin….on the spot… to take you into another world. Mr. Moo coming soon to an alternate reality near YOU.

Mr. Moo has flown in to play Denver Fusion Exchange, Las Vegas Exchange, and is a regular staple of the Alt Blues Recesses. He has opened for Nightmares on Wax, performed with Jason Webley, and is the go-to runway music composer for Michelle Lesniak (most recent winner of Project Runway).

DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid have spent more than a decade igniting dance floors with cutting edge music not limited by borders or language. They are most known for incinerating dance floors with the South Asian sounds of Bhangra and Bollywood, but the duo scour the globe for any hard-hitting music that combines local music traditions with window-rattling production. They host one of the city’s longest-running dance parties, cult radio show on KBOO since 2006, and regularly play to festival crowds throughout the Pacific Northwest including a headline performance at the Sasquatch! Music Festival dance stage.

Jack Yaguda (Guda) is a multi-instrumentalist/composer/producer hailing from Portland, Oregon. Traditionally trained from an early age in jazz and classical music, Yaguda will be sitting in with Mr. Moo on tabla.

Oh, how I’d love these free tickets. You see, I haven’t gotten laid in far too long. How long is too long, you ask? That’s an impertinent question, young person, and I will not answer. Suffice it to say, too long is too damn long. And, in lieu of getting laid, which really shouldn’t happen till I get my shit together anyways, I’d love to work up a sweat and gyrate my frustration away on the dance floor accompanied by the pulsing rhythms, ululating wails, and frantic syncopation of bhangra… And since we’re talking a plurality of tickets here, maybe I’ll invite that crush I’ve been eyeing lately, and ignore my common sense.
