I bike to and from work but sometimes a car would be nice during these upcoming winter months. This credit would come in handy!

I keep thinking about giving Car2Go a try. It seems like it might be just the thing my one car household needs on those days with too many tasks to run, between the three drivers in my house.

I remember my husband and I arrived in PDX late at night by train. It was pouring rain outside and we each had a heavy bag from our trip. We missed the last bus to get home. On the phone app, we saw that there was only 1 Car2go in the area, we weren’t sure if it still would be there once we got there. After walking through the questionable parts of PDX late at night, soaking wet, turned the corner and with a huge sigh or relief, I’ve never been soooo happy to see the blue and white smart car. I wanted to kiss the person who invented Car2go since we save so much money using it rather than calling a taxi.

I am a Car2Go member and I LOVE it! There are almost always cars available around our neighborhood, and they’re so cute and fun to drive. I would really love the free minutes since I frequently use the cars to get to work, especially on the days when the bus line near my house doesn’t run! Thank you, PDX Pipeline, for all the fun giveaways!

i love trying new things and i always see the car2go cars everywhere i go. i think it would be awesome to get the opportunity to “test drive” this amazing option for commuting in this beautiful city.

The way 2 go is 2 go with the flow.
We must unplug the roads and let the natural thoughts flow

    Because I need a dollar, dollar…

  8. Foster November 14, 2013 at 8:28 am #

I love Car2go! I can only assume they use magic to make a car appear close by whenever I need it. I haven’t been disappointed yet!

There’s nothing like trying, though I have never won anything in my life unless you count the jar of watermelon jelly beans I won in 3rd grade for guessing the quantity.
With Car2Go, I feel like I win everytime I use the service. There are countless times where a 30 minute commute just doesnt sound appealing, with Car2Go I can get home in 5 minutes (given I have checked traffic maps and the coast is clear). But I will never forget when my sibiling was stuck in the middle of Fremont bridge due to lack of gas, I was able to fill a tank and take it to him and get him out of harms way. Sigh. I only wish I could use it more but Car2Go is expensive especially if there is traffic, you spend more time in idle than driving time.

I have been using Car2Go for about 6mos. now, and it has definitely saved me a lot of time and money! I’m a bartender in SE Portland and live much closer-in, making getting home after work at 2am either difficult or expensive – walking would take a couple of hours, and a cab is around $15 one way.

I combine Car2Go with riding the bus, which means I don’t have to own a car! I would love the free minutes because with the holidays coming, every dollar saved counts!

  11. MIKIE November 14, 2013 at 8:43 am #

Talk about zoom zoom ! Car2go gets me there !!!

  12. Kellie November 14, 2013 at 9:00 am #

I would absolutely adore having extra minutes. Car2go saves me when Im trying to get from school to my job thats on the opposite side of town. Its been so great!

  13. Dave November 14, 2013 at 9:04 am #

    Yes please!!! Car2go is awesome!

  14. Jeremy Lopez November 14, 2013 at 9:09 am #

I see those car2go zipping around Portland and I’ve always wanted to test drive one! I ride my bike everywhere but 100minutes of drive time for $38? That’s something I can put my foot on!

  15. Allie November 14, 2013 at 9:21 am #

My husband and I ride bikes or use public transit; we don’t own a car. We’ve been members for almost two years. Typically use car2go late at night. Would love to win free minutes!

  16. Tommi November 14, 2013 at 9:23 am #

I need to get around this crazy town.

  17. Alicia November 14, 2013 at 9:25 am #

My husband and I don’t have a car, and we find car2go especially useful for grocery shopping. They’re also great during evenings and weekends when the buses don’t run as frequently. 100 free minutes would be incredible!

  18. Duke November 14, 2013 at 9:27 am #

I’ve never tried car2go, so I want free minutes to try it.

  19. Ryan G. November 14, 2013 at 9:27 am #

I love car2go…its a great help supplementing our car-free household.

  20. Lorelei November 14, 2013 at 9:35 am #

I love Car2Go! I have several friends across town that are always throwing potlucks, and it’s not always very realistic to ride my bike eight miles in the rain with a hot dish. Car2Go makes it so easy to get there, bring what I need, and I can leave whenever I want – I would put those minutes to great use!

  21. James November 14, 2013 at 9:38 am #

Car2Go makes my life easier, and frees me from having to coordinate with the other drivers in my house. I simply get to where I need to go.

  22. Aimee November 14, 2013 at 9:38 am #

As I don’t own a car but Zipcar doesn’t always serve my needs, Car2Go has been a great resource for me as a small business owner!!

  23. Erica November 14, 2013 at 9:44 am #

I’ve been using Car2Go for a year and it really comes in handy. I even got to use it in Seattle a couple weeks ago!

  24. Renata November 14, 2013 at 9:55 am #

I can try the smart car and how easy parking is downtown!

  25. Tina November 14, 2013 at 10:40 am #

I ride the bus daily. As it gets closer to the holidays and I work later, it would be nice to have wheels available to scoot home to catch some zzz’s before the a.m. shift comes around again! :-)

  26. Leah Y November 14, 2013 at 10:56 am #

Having just moved from Hawaii, I would like to explore Portland as much as possible. While I love public transit, it’s tough to be able to experience everything without a car. That’s why I’d love to try out car2go! It seems like a convenient and fun way to explore everything Portland has to offer.

  27. Kevin November 14, 2013 at 11:03 am #

As a freelance graphic designer I am constantly having to travel around the city to different agencies and meetings. Without a car a 15 minute meeting across town can end up taking 2-3 hours out of my day due to taking a bus. If I have a couple different meetings in a day and have errands to run I can rack up quite a bit of travel time if I have to walk and ride the bus. Car2go can really help me save some travel time so I can do whats important in my life. 100 free minutes would be quite the blessing in my life at this time. Cheers to whoever wins and you guys for putting this together!

  28. Ruth Ann November 14, 2013 at 11:09 am #

I’ve been seeing these cars about town, and would like to give one a try. What is membership fee? Last time I paid a membership fee for another related service here in town, I used it but once so the two hours cost $50. Have to be assured they are available over here in Chinatown as I haven’t seen any until I go over to the Pearl.

  29. Chris November 14, 2013 at 11:21 am #

I’ve found car2go to be a great backup when I have bike problems like a flat on the way to work. As soon as I realize my bike won’t make it, I get on the app, find a car nearby & can usually make it in time. An extra 100 min in credit would provide me with some good piece of mind.

  30. Bryan November 14, 2013 at 11:24 am #

I can always use some extra time!

  31. Joe November 14, 2013 at 2:17 pm #

Last week, I became a Car2go member so 100 free minutes would be a great way to kick things off. I look forward to a future where Car2go catches on across the entire country.

  32. John Jigitz November 14, 2013 at 2:49 pm #

I am new to Portland and absolutely love it! I can get by most of the time using the max or biking but every once in a while, a car is absolutely nessecary. Obviously it’s not worth owning a car if I’m only going to drive it a couple of times a month, but Car2Go perfectly fills in the gap! I love the simple business model and energy efficient cars to go along with it!

  33. Abby S. November 14, 2013 at 3:15 pm #

I use the carg2go when I’m DDing, so it would be cool to do my good deeds for free!

  34. Jeremy Brill November 14, 2013 at 3:39 pm #

would be great to commute to jiu jitsu while the weather is cruddy

  35. Gray Ayer November 14, 2013 at 3:56 pm #

i use it for djing, when it’s too wet out to lug my gear on my bike.

  36. Damian November 14, 2013 at 4:06 pm #

I could spend 101 minutes in those little blue halfacars!

  37. Rachel November 14, 2013 at 4:26 pm #

I love the idea of Car2Go but it’s kind of spendy so I hardly use it! This would be a great incentive to start up again and remind myself of why it is worth it (especially in the winter months!).

  38. Steve November 14, 2013 at 4:48 pm #

I am a Car2Go fiend! Would take advantage of every one of those free minutes.

  39. Scott November 14, 2013 at 5:35 pm #

I have been wanting to try this.

  40. J November 14, 2013 at 7:41 pm #

I’m thinking of going carless. This could be a good way of testing the waters!

  41. Anthony November 14, 2013 at 7:52 pm #

I’ve been meaning to drive one of those cars, namely so that my parallel parking skills will look even MORE awesome. Also it’d be convenient and stuff.

  42. Adrienne November 14, 2013 at 9:34 pm #

Car2Go is a lifesaver! Both my roomie and I are able to be car-free, but always able to get where we need to go. These minutes will be put to very good use!

  43. Comfort November 15, 2013 at 6:52 am #

Car2Go rules – been wanting to try it to see if we can get rid of the extra vehicle my husband drives to work.

  44. michelle warnke November 15, 2013 at 7:43 am #

I use car2go all the time!! I love it and extra minutes always come in handy!

  45. Mikey Romay November 15, 2013 at 5:39 pm #

I owe them about $40, this would help with that ;)

  46. Minh jones November 16, 2013 at 9:14 am #

    I want a free membership!

  47. Minh jones November 16, 2013 at 9:16 am #

Car2go is a lifesaver. My roomie has it and it’s a quick save when you’re in a time crunch.

  48. Teresa Brothers November 16, 2013 at 10:25 pm #

I’ve tried it here in Portland, and in San Diego on vacation. What a blast! It’s the only car to drive in downtown.
