The World Forestry Center Discovery Museum is opening its doors for a special Museum by Moonlight after-hours event – Lumberjaks + Libations

On Thursday, November 21, lumberjacks and lumberjills over 21 can enjoy an evening in the museum while enjoying themed cocktails, beer or wine. Tasty food and treats will also be on hand to satisfy hearty appetites after a hard day’s work in the urban jungle, or forest.

While you’re here, make sure you’re prepared for your next night out in the woods. Attend the Nature Survival Skills presentation where you will learn useful skills for surviving out in the forest. Those dressed in the lumberjack spirit of the evening with flannel shirts, boots, suspenders or beards, will pay only $5 for admission.

Price also includes admission to the museum’s special exhibit, “Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography.”

If I win, then I will finally have a motivation to buy the fleece-lined flannel shirt from the LL Bean catalog that arrived in the mail for the last resident of the house I’m renting (with a coupon!). It sounds like a good time!

  34. Ron T November 10, 2013 at 7:58 pm #

This could prove to be both stimulating, informative and enjoyable to my mother, now 76 years of age. Her father was killed in a logging accident at 7 years of age. She served her country in both the USAF and the Army National Guard. One of the first female sheriff deputies in Ada County, she went on to store detective and communications dept. in another police agency.
She was a licensed EMT in both Oregon and Idaho.
I say all of this, as, she is losing memory and I’d give anything to allow it to return. Thank you
