Hillsdale Main Street is hosting its third annual Paella Dinner, a fundraising event that helps raise money for the non profit’s year-round community support programs.

The event’s highlight is a Spanish dish called paella, which will be cooked in a five-foot diameter pan over the course of the day by Chef Greg Schwab from Seasons & Regions. Guests can watch the cooking process while enjoying local wine and an appetizer course. They are also welcomed to purchase a mystery bottle of wine from the wine wall, and participate in a raffle for prizes donated by local businesses.

“Hillsdale is such a tight-knit neighborhood, the Paella Dinner is a great opportunity to get the entire community together for an evening to socialize and celebrate,” said Megan Braunsten, Executive Director of Hillsdale Main Street. “Paella is also our largest fundraiser of the year. It is a great opportunity to thank our sponsors and let them get a taste of the businesses they support.”

The food and cooking services will be donated by local restaurants, including the Tapas provided by Salvador Molly’s catering, plus bread and heavenly desserts by award-winning author and baker Julie Richardson from Baker & Spice Bakery and SweetWares.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will also go to Neighborhood House’s Food Box Program, which serves over 14,000 low-income children and seniors each year. There will be a featured MC during portions of the event for entertainment, as well as key speakers highlighting sponsor contributions and success.

How a Math teacher equates this dish: Pi x A = Yuck

How a Canadian asks if you want some: “Pie ‘eh, ya?”

I am neither a math teacher, nor Canadian. So, please give me some Paella?!?
