Following their sold out 2012 fall tour, Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork return to the concert stage this summer for a reprise. Because of the overwhelming demand from fans unable to see the limited run the trio undertook last November, The Monkees are bowing to popular demand, bringing their show to all new venues and markets this summer. Dubbed “A Midsummer’s Night With The Monkees,” the jaunt kicks off at Port Chester, New York’s Capitol Theatre on July 15 and wraps at Portland, Oregon’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on August 18.

Presale and VIP ticket packages for all shows will go on sale exclusively at on May 1 at 10AM local time. VIP ticket packages will also include a copy of the upcoming deluxe edition of The Monkees Present, the next in the acclaimed series of Monkees reissues from Rhino Handmade.

General on sales for all dates begin May 3. Last year’s tour elicited raves from both fans and critics alike. “…Nothing could have prepared the uninitiated for the powerful concert the Monkees delivered…,” wrote Chrissie Dickinson in the Chicago Tribune, “It wasn’t just a recap of the band’s reatest hits. It was an emotionally disarming multimedia show that, for all its backward glance, elt fresh and electric.”

The trio’s setlist will feature a selection of their classic hits (such as “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday” and “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone”), deep cuts from their first five platinum albums (including some performed for the first time since the 1960’s) and fan favorites from the soundtrack to their cult film classic Head and their Emmy®-award winning television series. Plus, a few surprises!

The show will encompass a full multimedia evening of music, rare films and one-of-a-kind photographs culled from the archives. Backed by the same stellar crew of musicians from their 2012 run, Nesmith, Dolenz and Tork will also perform an unaccompanied set as a trio. This foray into tracks from their 1967 homespun #1 long player, Headquarters, is sure to be among the highlights of the upcoming dates.

Yup I watched these guys when I was a kid, with my butt long hair and bell bottoms that later became elephant bell bottoms. Hey Hey I was a Monkee loving baby Hippie. This is my generation. I would get a ridiculous kick out of this.

    And hey, White Out!

I have LOVED the Monkees since their show was syndicated on MTV in the 80s. I have every album they released, their TV shows and movies, have been to one concert sans Mike (my favorite) in the 90s and would love to see them play with Mike Nesmith. I am unemployed and broke as s*&t, and the concert is a week before my bday so it’d be the best bday present for this broke, jobless gal!

  14. Barbara Richardson August 7, 2013 at 8:05 pm #

I loved watching The Monkees when I was growing up… Hey Hey we’re the Monkees, people say we monkey around!

  20. Jessica August 8, 2013 at 9:55 am #

I love The Monkees and seeing them perform would be amazing! My childhood bestfriend and I named pet rocks after The Monkees members and carried them around grade school. We didn’t care that we were weird! We were hooked! Some of my favorite memories of being a kid have a Monkees song as the background music. I even tried to use my camera to take pictures of Davy Jones when he was on a Nickelodeon in the 80’s just so I could stare at his face whenever I wanted.

  21. Kim.e August 8, 2013 at 11:54 am #

Pick me please! Would love to see the remianing Monkees!

  22. Tim August 8, 2013 at 12:18 pm #

  25. Danyelle August 8, 2013 at 1:49 pm #

While my friends were fighting the battle of Debbie vs. Tiffany, the Monkees were my first favorite band. After much begging and pleading, a Greatest Hits album was my first cassette (I still can’t figure out where my mom would have found it.) I STILL listen to them regularly and damn near cried when I heard Davy Jones passed away .

  26. Rebecca August 8, 2013 at 1:54 pm #

  28. ML August 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm #

Like so many others, I remember watching The Monkees on TV ~ “Hey, hey, we’re the Monkees!….” and I remember all the memorial comments when Davy Jones died. I’d love to see them on stage ~ and take my daughter, who’s heard me talk about them and play their music and has learned to play some of it herself on her ukelele! What a cool ‘back to school’ gift that would be!

  49. [email protected] August 9, 2013 at 8:35 am #

the monkees seemed camp but really, when you boil it down, these boys deserve to be in the rock n’ roll hall o’ fame. sure, how they formed laid the groundwork for concocted boy bands, but they grew into a real band nearly as overnite as their success. would dig catching this piece of rock history!

  50. Michael August 9, 2013 at 11:31 am #

I have long heard tales of my girlfriend sitting in her room and listening to the Monkees over and over as a small girl in a tiny Northern California town with no radio stations available. Despite these terrible living conditions she still has an inexplicable affinity for the Monkees. I would love the opportunity to surprise her with this concert, as it would finally put to rest the accusations of me not remembering stories she’s told me about. Please, help me prove that I not only love this lady, but that I do in fact remember memories that she has shared with me!!!

  51. Karson August 9, 2013 at 12:10 pm #

Hey Hey were the monkees, people say we monkee around!!!!

  52. Vikki August 9, 2013 at 1:17 pm #

  53. Jack L August 9, 2013 at 2:03 pm #

I remember being guided to the Monkees when my parents thought that The Beatles were getting weird with Revolver. The last album we were allowed to get was Rubber Soul and then came the Monkees and Saturday morning TV. My older sister is visiting next week and will be here for the concert. She liked the Monkees more than I and I would love to take her as a surprise.

  54. Leo D August 10, 2013 at 1:08 pm #

If there’s any good in life, any hope whatsoever, I might them win some tix for this cool event.
    Fingers crossed,

  55. Mrs. Bob Dobalina August 10, 2013 at 5:41 pm #

I first saw/heard The Monkees when I was 5. Davy Jones was my first ‘boyfriend’.
When I was 13, I broke up with Davy for Mickey. It was 1986 and I set the VCR to tape The Monkees everyday at 5pm. I still have all of those video tapes, including some awesome commercial throwbacks.
Peter, Davy & Mickey were my first concert ever that same summer.
Friends texted me condolences when Davy died.
I still watch the Christmas episode (with Butch Patrick/Eddie Munster) every year.
I’m a school teacher who can’t afford $120 right now.

  56. wallace August 12, 2013 at 2:01 pm #

sold out! dang it – love the monkeys, Davy Jones was my first boyfriend.

  57. Julie August 12, 2013 at 3:08 pm #

Oh my gosh! When I was about 10, I wrote in my diary, “I am madly in love with Davy Jones”. I am not kidding. My sister & I watched The Monkees everyday, and when my dad wouldn’t let us watch it one day because he wanted to watch M.A.S.H., we cried. OBSESSED.
