Both Counting Crows and The Wallflowers are dynamic rock bands with fans all over the world and millions in album sales. The relationship between the two bands dates back to 1996 when Adam Duritz lent background vocals to the Wallflowers hit, “6th Avenue Heartache.”

Counting Crows –Adam Duritz (vocals), Jim Bogios (drums), David Bryson (guitar), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards), David Immergluck (guitar), Millard Powers (bass) and Dan Vickrey (guitar) – have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide after exploding onto the music scene with their multiplatinum breakout album August and Everything After in 1993. Their most recent album, Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation), features a collection of 15 gorgeously rendered songs in which the modern rock mainstays honor global icons, indie-pop heroes, compelling up-and-comers and even their own seminal pre-Crows projects. The album was released April 10, 2012.

In the span of their career, Grammy-award winning The Wallflowers have released six studio and one compilation album. Their most recent studio album, Glad All Over, was released on October 9, 2013 after the band – Jakob Dylan (vocals), Rami Jaffee (keyboards), Greg Richling (bass), Stuart Mathis (guitar) and Jack Irons (drums) – announced the end of their hiatus in November 2011.

It would be amazing to top it off with Counting Crows, Wallflowers and amazing Pacific wine. This would make me so happy, I might cry if I actually win.

  25. Annika June 26, 2013 at 5:35 pm #

I’d love to surprise and take my best friend to see the Counting Crows! To be forthright, her mother passed away 9 years ago and Counting Crows was her favorite band… even played ‘A Long December’ at her funeral. The besty’s been going through a rough time lately and it’d be awesome to treat her to something that would totally brighten her day.

  26. Melissa June 26, 2013 at 9:16 pm #

To enjoy the warm wind on the cliffs of Maryhill, a glass of cold rose in your hand, as you listen to excellent music – Well, there’s a lot of date night points in that scenario.

I’m interning this summer aka not making a ton of money so I would love to win these and go see two of my favorite bands!

  59. Lisa June 27, 2013 at 4:04 pm #

I love, Love, LOVE their music! I was in a relationship for the last 13 years or so and in that time seeing a concert or visiting a vineyard was strictly prohibited. I wanna see what I have been missing. PLEASE pick me! I have never been to a concert where the people on stage are ‘actually’ worth seeing.

  60. Boyd McLaughlin June 27, 2013 at 4:14 pm #

As someone who digs music from many genres, I would like very much to check out both bands; the Wallflowers and Counting Crows. I’ve heard them on the radio but never seen them in a live show.
It’s been awhile since my wife and I have been out. I’m thinking she would dig a night out at Maryhill. Especially, with the Crows and Wallflowers.

  71. Alex June 27, 2013 at 8:02 pm #

    because it would be lovely

  72. Maggie June 27, 2013 at 8:03 pm #

I do totally love both of these bands and to see them perform together at Maryhill would be awesome!!!

The poetry of Counting Crows, Adam Duritz’s, lyrics are about many universal feelings…….yet the words he chooses and music give it such personal meaning…..there is sometimes a different emotion tied into each song……or maybe it’s just the memories that each one dredges up for me. I agree that his energy as he sings each of the songs is amazing. One can’t help but think that he is re-experiencing the feelings he wrote into those lyrics.

And the Wallflowers also share those same feelings and emotions, like with their hit single, “6th Avenue Heartache.” The song is based off of a real live experience of Jakob Dylan and is both sincere and heartfelt. I can also relate to it for personal reasons.

  73. Dana Wales June 27, 2013 at 8:19 pm #

Memories of a happy youth! Would love to take my hubby and daughter!

I grew up belting out every word of August and Everything After, starting from when I’d turn Mr. Jones to top volume and would dance to it as a teenager in the blue shag rug of a family room, breathless at the end of four and a half minutes of pure carefree bliss.

  87. Madison June 29, 2013 at 8:27 am #

  122. Androo M July 4, 2013 at 12:07 am #

To attend this show would be one of the defining moments of my life, mainly because the Counting Crows helped me keep the love of my life.

About 4 years ago, my partner Kelsey and I were going through the great challenge of our relationship. Two years earlier, our eyes held nothing but the glitter of a wonderful future together, as we left our worlds to to create something new, a world purely ours. We quit our jobs, no longer cared for life based on a profit, and moved to a small piece of land outside of Portland.

For awhile, we relished our immersion in each other. But the world beckoned for us. My mother grew very ill, very suddenly. A virus had laid dorment in her, and now quite immediately threatened to take her away. We moved back to my hometown in North Carolina, and the pressure of grief took its toll on our relationship. Every night, not knowing what the next would hold, we stopped looking at each other the way we used to, stopped telling each other everything, and eventually, stopped telling each other anything. On the night my mother passed, we had said more than a few words to each other. On the drive home from the hospital, “Round Here” came on the radio and I found myself singing along, as I always had. Being so enveloped in the moment, I barely noticed that Kelsey had been singing along too. When I did, I pulled over and we shared the moment together. We had never talked about how much we each loved the Counting Crows, it may have been one of the only things we didn’t talk about. But in that moment, when everything was changing, the love we had for each other was just starting a new chapter.

Sorry for the long post! It would just mean so much for me and my partner to see this show!

I would love to take my mom to this concert she has been very good to me n raised me well despite everything that is going on in our lives. She’s been my rock and someone I can always count on and no I would never have money to do this on my own to win would be great. In a way it’s kind of me giving back woman that is meant the world to me. the Counting Crows are her favorite band, A band I got her into as a child. I believe by attending it would bring us closer together and make her very happy. In a way it would allow her to get rid of all the stress in her life even if it is just for a few hours.

  133. Caroline July 4, 2013 at 5:42 pm #

One of my all time favorite bands and have never seen them live!

  134. Aimee July 4, 2013 at 5:50 pm #

I was in high school when i picked up a free counting crows cassette tape from Tower Records in Campbell, ca. (now a petco grrrrr) Anyhow I played that over and over…some thought i was silly for taking the free copy…but it gave me a lifelong interest of the music i’m proud to have been one of the first group of fans to love your band. please pick me! I moved up here from Campbell and looking to meet new friends with same interest in music and it would bring me full circle. ya know? thanks for letting me toss my name in!

Believe it or not, I’ve only recently caught on to these groups, but love ’em. Would be fantastic to hear them live in such a great setting in the gorge. Would appreciate the chance to do that. Thx.

I would love the chance to go to this show! I love the Counting Crows and the last time I went was right before my Ex Wife and I got divorced. It was the very last thing we did together as a couple. I would love the chance to create a new memory surrounding my favorite band.

Been craving a trip up the gorge. Top it off with Counting Crows and The Wallflowers….perfect.

  146. Molly July 6, 2013 at 4:32 pm #

The Wallflowers were my very first CD! One Headlight was the cut. And how can you not love Counting Crows? I would love to go to this show with my kiddo. It would be so neat to give my 7 year old son a glimpse of what his Mommy used to rock out to during my pre-teen awkward phase.

  147. Joy July 6, 2013 at 6:28 pm #

Teenage me want sososososososo bad to go stare at Jakob Dylan!!!!!

  148. Caroline Bowers July 6, 2013 at 11:32 pm #

I would like to win tickets to go to this concert so I could take my two daughters who are 17 & 13. They’ve grown up and they dont really like hanging out with mom anymore. It really breaks my heart. I feel like no matter what I suggest for things to do, they either don’t want to go or they just make plans with their friends. I would really like to have something that they would enjoy doing with me, something cool. I think they would really want to go to this concert and that would just make my entire year. I just wish we were a family again, like we used to be.

  149. Tammie July 7, 2013 at 7:15 am #

  153. Nicole July 11, 2013 at 8:16 pm #

I used to force boys in college to drink Boone’s with me and listen to Anna Begins 57 times in a row while I got all sad and bellowed along in my tone deaf voice…Because. It. Touched. My. Soul.

  154. Simone July 3, 2016 at 1:48 pm #

Spent a lot of long rainy Decembers in Oregon walking the streets listening to Counting Crows on my CD player. Counting Crows and Wallflowers was growing up in Oregon for me. It would be an awesome privelige to see these two bands play at the beautiful Maryhill winery. What a venue!
