JD Samson is best known as leader of the band MEN and for being one-third of the electronic-feminist-punk band and performance project, Le Tigre. For more than a decade JD’s career as a singer, producer and DJ has landed her at the intersection of music, art, activism, and fashion.

In 2007, MEN began as a DJ/Remix/Production team featuring JD. Eventually, MEN became a live band and art collective. MEN’s debut full length record “Talk About Body” was released in February 2011 by IAMSOUND in the USA and through Sony/Columbia in Europe. This was followed by the release of the EP “Next” in April 2012. MEN is currently finishing up their new full-length album for release in early 2013. Since their inception, the band has toured extensively internationally from LA and New York to Moscow and Shanghai to Paris and Sydney, whether it be at museums or dance-clubs, performing with the likes of Gossip, Peaches, and CSS.

JD Samson has been DJing internationally since 2001 and has found her way through many different scenes and genres. Whether she is playing at a cavernous nightclub, a museum, the beach, or a dive bar, JD focuses on “creating spaces for rad people to dance and smile and hold each other.” JD is an innovative, crowd-pleasing DJ and can swing as many ways as she wants to make an amazing night.

Throughout the years, JD has been photographed and featured in a near-endless stream of magazines, publications and fine art projects, as an androgynous sex symbol and “icon of nerdy-cool (New York Times). Most recently, JD was photographed for a seven page spread in Vogue Hommes International, profiled by Interview Magazine and wrote a widely-quoted piece on the economics of being an artist for The Huffington Post.

She is, in short, one of the most engaging and forward-thinking DJ/producer/singer/activists working today. As her influence continues to grow her music and perspective ripples ever outward.

Prolific DJ and event promoted- Bruce LaBruiser is the lady bringer of indie dance pop, electro, house and remix jams. Catch her at any of her resident nights “Dirt Bag” at The Know and “Filth” at Beulahland. Take a listen at:

Gaycation is a monthly queer dance party, hosted by residents DJ Snowtiger and Mr. Charming. Currently in its 7th year of fierceness, Gaycation showcases local & international queer performers and strives to create a super hot, inclusive, homo dance party.

My wife and I are moving to the Midwest to help out family. This is our last Portland Pride and we want to make it one we won’t soon forget. unfortunately this move is consuming all our money so winning tickets would be a major help, and allow us to attend Gaycation when we otherwise may not be able to.
