Def Jam Recordings will release the long awaited and hotly anticipated Method Man and Redman album, Blackout 2, the follow up to their platinum plus collaboration, Blackout!.

Featuring production from Pete Rock, Rockwilda and Erick Sermon, Blackout 2 will satisfy Method Man and Redman fans who have followed the two from their first verse. The first singles, “A-Yo” featuring Suakrates produced by Pete Rock, “Mrs International” featuring Erick Sermon produced by Buckwild and “City Lights” featuring Bun B produced by Nasty Kutt are Method Man and Redman at their best

Already an integral part of the fabric of hip-hop culture Method Man and Redman took hip-hop by storm when they released Blackout!. Hailed as one of the best albums of 1999, it featured the game changing singles “Y.O.U., Tear It Off” and “Da Rockwilder.” Method Man and Redman wrote their names in the history books as some of rap’s best lyricists.

“…when hip-hop’s most playfully creative rhyme stylers throw down like two superballs in a rubber room, they’re unstoppable – and make rap’s most joyous ride.” – Entertainment Weekly

Redman exploded on to the hip-hop scene in 1992 when he released his debut album, Whut? Thee Album . That gold album was followed up with the gold-plus, critically acclaimed releases Dare Iz a Darkside .(1994), Muddy Water (1996),Doc’s da Name 2000 (1998), El Nino with Def Squad (Keith Murray and Erick Sermon in 1998) , Malpractice (2001) and Red Gone Wild (2007).

Always larger than life, Method Man became a vital part of hip-hop culture in 1992 as a founding member of the hip-hop supergroup Wu-Tang Clan with their instant classic Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Solidifying himself as a superstar in his own rite, Method Man released the platinum releases Tical (1994), Tical 2000: Judgement Day (1998), Tical 0: The Prequel (2004) and 4:21…The Day After (2006).

  23. Laurent June 5, 2013 at 1:58 pm #

I’ve been addicted to Meth ;) since I was about 10 years old (thanks to older brothers), shortly after Wu’s ’93 debut masterpiece, “Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers”, and a Red fan a couple years later when he released his 3rd album, “Muddy Waters”. When I heard Meth & Red’s “Blackout” album for the first time… I shat myself. Then I saw them perform it @ Family Values Tour… explosive diarrhea. Unfortunately I am so broke right now, I can barely afford to keep my power on. Just let me know who’d D I gotta S, and I’ll do it!

    • Laurent June 5, 2013 at 2:15 pm #

Oh, and I noticed you said “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” debut in ’92… it was late ’93 as I said! ;) Bonus points… I was born and have lived in the great PDX my whole life!

  24. Vanessa June 5, 2013 at 3:36 pm #

Me and the Archman would LOVE to go see Method and Redman this weekend! I don’t have a babysitter this time, but the kids will be gone to a sleepover. That means we could maybe catch a drink before, during, and after the show!

Shows at the Crystal kick serious ass, and I’ve never been able to catch the Wu live. It’s gonna be hot in there, and I’m gonna love it!

  28. Aaron June 5, 2013 at 11:21 pm #

Just got married in October. Just took honeymoon 3 weeks ago. Super broke! Wife’s birthday 6/6. I need all the help I can get, and she loves Wu… Redmans crazy too. She was bumping these fools years before I knew who they were.

Winning these tix would mean so much to us both!

I first heard of Method Man when I was visiting my second home, NYC, in 1994. I heard M E T H O D Ma for the first time on Rap City. I have been his fan and a fan of Wu-tang ever since. I had to come back to Portland to school my friends on this “new cat”. It would bring all kinds of awesome memories if I was able to see the rappers I grew up on.

  63. charlie June 6, 2013 at 11:27 pm #

“ALL I NEED, this week, to get by- is tickets to REMAN and METHOD MAN”

shorty you’re there for me anytime you need me, for real girl, it’s me in your world-believe me. Nothing makes a man feel better than a woMAn- Queen with a crown that be down for whatever
There are few things that’s forever, my lady -We can make war or make babies
    Back when I was nothin
You made a brother feel like he was somethin
That’s why I’m with you to this day boo no frontin
Even when the skies were gray
You would rub me on my back and say “Baby it’ll be okay”

  64. Jessica June 7, 2013 at 7:03 am #

Wu tang! What! Would be awesome.

  65. Tatsu Riveraeon June 7, 2013 at 8:49 am #

My reason for requesting consideration of a free ticket on my part is simple: I love the Wu, and this would be the first time I’ve seen not just them, but a hip-hop show alone, however Cappadona’s having a show and tried as I have, I can only afford to see either him or the Meth+Red. I kinda feel bad picking them over Capp simply because I’m more familiar with them.

I hope to get a chance to set this up righteous.

  66. Sarah June 7, 2013 at 9:38 am #

I want to dance to Da Rockwilder. Would love to go.
