I REALLY want/need these tickets for my daughter. She’s been bugging me to go but it’s become too expensive to go anymore. I haven’t been in years but I sent her last year and
she raved about how much fun it is and now she wants to go back with her friend.

    Tickets please! : )

  2. sara May 14, 2013 at 3:19 pm #

I would love to win this prize because as a kid going to the fair was the thing I looked forward to the most in the summer. It was a simble that summer had officially kicked off and was a time for fun and enjoying things as a group outdoors. There is no better feeling than going on the rides at the fair, feeling your stomach drop on the fast and spinning rides. The memory of your first kiss at the top of the farris wheel. Sharing cotton candy as you gaze into the fire works and drift off into the beauty of the fair. This is why this prize would be so amazing for me to win.

  3. kettles1008 May 14, 2013 at 3:30 pm #

I would love to go! I haven’t been in years. I remember it being so much fun, but it has just gotten so expensive!

  4. Angela May 14, 2013 at 3:33 pm #

  6. Ashley May 14, 2013 at 3:37 pm #

I would absolutely LOVE to win these tickets! I just moved to Portland from a small town in central Oregon, and have never been to the Rose Festival. I have always dreamt of going, and whether or not I win these tickets; I will go one year! :) Portland is and will forever be my home. I adore this city!
    Please pick me! :D

  7. Malcolm May 14, 2013 at 3:39 pm #

I just moved to Portland and this will be my first Rose Festival. I have some family members visiting from Hawaii and would like to share this experience with them. Aloha!

  8. Ron May 14, 2013 at 3:45 pm #

Please please please my daughter is coming to Portland to visit, she has never experienced this magnificent yearly event. We are having a very bad year financially and was wanting to take her to experience the excitement and show her the area in hopes of getting her to move here with us…
I will lick your feet, kiss the ground you walk on, I will even take her to this event with not only a rose painted on my bald head but also the letters PDX and will send you pictures of such..
    Totally serious.. Thanks

  9. LuLu McCoskey May 14, 2013 at 3:59 pm #

Three months ago I moved to Portland from Texas. As much as I love it here my home sick-ness is definitely starting to set in. I have heard so many amazing things about the Rose Festival. I would love the opportunity to experience the festival in its full glory. Making amazing memories will get me one step closer to being able to call this beautiful city ‘home’.

  10. Jessica May 14, 2013 at 4:35 pm #

As a the fine Jean Richepin once said…

One may live without bread, not without roses.

Myself being a newbie to the Rose City, my summer shall not be complete without seeing

the spectacular Rose Festival I’ve been hearing so much about.

If you grace me with the honor of these tickets, i will tag a ridiculous amount of Instagram

photos to you pdxpipeline, and will never cease to shout my praises for you. : )

Please make my dream come true!

  14. Leslie Van May 14, 2013 at 5:40 pm #

It would be wonderful to be able to take my three kids to this. With the way prices have gone up it has just become too expensive for me to take them and it is something I’ve been wanting to do for years. Help us make our summer unforgettable and send us!

  15. Lisa May 14, 2013 at 5:54 pm #

Ohhh I REALLY want to go and take some new PDX friends. They really need to have a break after their big move AND I have never gone and would love to spend some $$ to support this great event.

  19. Ben May 14, 2013 at 7:45 pm #

I have lived in Portland for five years and have never been to this festival. I have walked past it and wished I had a little more money to get in and have fun, but no, I’m a loser.

  20. Kristina May 14, 2013 at 9:31 pm #

I used to work the Rose Festival many years ago, I would love to take my son and experience it all through his little eyes.

  26. Drew Morrison May 15, 2013 at 10:16 pm #

Imagine four years ago, meeting the most beautiful person you have ever met….but life didn’t warrant being able to follow through on getting to know that person. And then a few months ago, after 3 years of a bad relationship and 10 months of taking the time to heal and become whole…the day you became “you” again, running into that same person.

The feeling that overwhelms you is that of meeting someone you know, for the first time…and those feelings that make your skin blush and heart race follow you through every date that you two entangle yourselves into as you finally are able to embrace each other in each others arms and lives as you are finally given the opportunity that had been paused for so long….

That is what I have been blessed with. My name is Drew. The girl is Alisa Rose… We decided last week to do a random vacation to Portland together; our first. As coincidences go. We randomly met each other one night. Randomly ran back into each others lives. We randomly picked a place to go too. She loves Roses as it is in her family name and I, adore this woman. In a city we both love, the weekend we will be here, the Rose Festival premieres. Our lives seem to be intersections of amazing coincidences surrounded by moments of great events that allow us to grow in a relationship and within each other and I believe our weekend to Portland will be no different.

I am not saying we deserve anything more than what we’ve been offered, but I do .but I hope that anyone who does attend this event, can see that other great people are attending and will take full advantage of the memories that this giveaway will provide….win or not. Alisa and I will….

  27. Shaun May 16, 2013 at 12:06 am #

My family and I will be visiting that weekend and would love to experience the Rose Festival. It such a cultural event! Greetings!

    Shaun G.

We have two girls, ages 16 and 12. Trying to find something they both enjoy doing can be a challenge. This is one thing they both love…between the rides, the food, the games…everyone is happy! It would be wonderful to take them, especially to openning night. What a great treat that would be!

  30. Chris May 16, 2013 at 8:23 am #

Because my wife is going to be out of town & I’m solo with two girls. Ugh, what am I gonna do???

  31. Toby May 16, 2013 at 8:51 am #

I have never been and would love to take my little niece to such a fun Portland tradition.

Maybe then he, and my friends back home, will quit pestering me about moving back. Please pick me! I would love to win these tickets.

  38. Marcy May 16, 2013 at 12:40 pm #

Me + Family + Rose Festival = Joy!

If I’m not chosen then I suggest Ron (above – May 14th). He sounds like a fun guy.

  39. Gayleen Guyton May 16, 2013 at 12:53 pm #

What a great way to attempt to re-live my childhood of visiting the Rose Festival;which was an annual tradition back in the 80’s.

  44. Tim May 16, 2013 at 3:42 pm #

Please don’t reward someone who just moved here. The tickets should go to someone who is part of and understands the importance the rose festival has to the community.

  45. Jen May 16, 2013 at 3:45 pm #

Though I have lived here most of my life, I have NEVER ridden the rides during the Rose Festival. I think it’s about time…and I’d LOVE these tickets!

  46. Ally May 16, 2013 at 3:46 pm #

    Pick me!

  47. Josie L May 16, 2013 at 3:49 pm #

We’re only in the PNW for this summer on a temporary work assignment. We’re normally in the South and we’d love to go to the festival to really experience Portland during the short time that we are here.

  48. Kait May 16, 2013 at 3:49 pm #

I’m about to finish grad school and will probably move away from Portland. This could be my last opportunity to go (I’ve never been before). Help me enjoy this awesome event before it’s too late!

  49. James May 16, 2013 at 3:49 pm #

When I was visiting Portland last summer, this festival was just wrapping up. The closest I got to enjoying it was watching the rides get taken down through a chain link fence as I walked along the waterfront. Now that I live here, I’ve been looking forward to getting the chance to finally go. Growing up we always went to state fairs as a family, and I continued with new friends when I went off to school. Now I’m excited to start a new tradition on a new coast.

  50. max weinstein May 16, 2013 at 3:51 pm #

Its my Girlfriends Birthday and ive never been…this would make for one romantic treat ;)

    Sounds like a blast!

  54. Kami May 16, 2013 at 3:56 pm #

My husband, 2 sons and I would love to go. We are really short on cash this year, and would love to celebrate the Rose Festival with my 15 year old son before he goes to Germany in August for a full year. He won’t be here to celebrate with us. This would be a great family day to remember while he is gone.

Thank you for the chance to make this a reality.

  55. Victorian May 16, 2013 at 4:02 pm #

We have to unexpectedly move (house was bought and new owners want to use the house) and all our money is tied up in moving expenses and deposits on a new place. I would love to be able to treat my kids to some fun in this stressful time!

  56. Evan Lazer May 16, 2013 at 4:09 pm #

I can’t wait for my first rose festival, I’m new to Portland and just know it will be great.

  57. Jenn May 16, 2013 at 4:10 pm #

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this prize! Being from California & a huge fan of the California State fair I have yet been able to enjoy the Rose Festival festivities! I would like to take myself and other Californias that will be visting that time and show them a real Portland weekend!

  58. Brittany May 16, 2013 at 4:10 pm #

  62. J. Bigos May 16, 2013 at 4:16 pm #

I haven’t had weekends off in a decade. I finally have gotten them off and so how better to celebrate then to actually be able to take everyone to the fair. It’s been awful not having the same days off as my family. Kinda missed some fun stuff and this would be great. Thanks for reading.

  63. Ditty Nicolaides May 16, 2013 at 4:16 pm #

    Give granny a fabulous event!

  64. Ryan May 16, 2013 at 4:19 pm #

We understand and appreciate the importance of festivals and fairs to a community. We come from a place that enjoys and takes pride in its festivals (MN State Fair, Aquatennial, Winter Carnival, etc.). After a big and expensive move, we’d love to take part of this community event and bond with natives and newcomers alike.

  65. Sisy May 16, 2013 at 4:20 pm #

Roses are red and fireworks many-hued.
Watching the parade will put me in such a good mood!

Wishing everyone a wonderful time at this year’s Rose Festival. If I win, my husband and son will enjoy a Northwest tradition for the first time.

  66. Brian May 16, 2013 at 4:26 pm #

A terrific celebration of the city of Roses. It has been many years since I have gone so I would love to win these tickets.

  69. Jessica May 16, 2013 at 4:37 pm #

I recently returned to Portland after a 21 year absence. I haven’t been to the Rose Festival since I was a wee thing on my Papa Bear’s shoulders. I’m ready for a grand return! But I probably won’t make my Pops carry me this time. Probably.

  70. Stephanie Klein May 16, 2013 at 4:43 pm #

PDXpipeline is awesome. Completly rad, awesome and seriously the bomb. I would love to be able to take my niece and nephews to this fest. They have never been because their parents cannot afford extras like this and I try my best to be able to include fun things like this!

  71. Johnny May 16, 2013 at 4:49 pm #

that explains whythe rains have returned, its time for the Rose Festival! And it does not matter if it rains because the Rose Festival is in itself sunshine and fun.

  72. Cora May 16, 2013 at 4:49 pm #

Would love to take my kiddos! They’ve never been…it’s always way to spendy for us. Thanks for hosting such awesome giveaways!

  73. Melissa Wentzel May 16, 2013 at 4:51 pm #

My 33rd birthday is May 27th… I am proud to say that I am and always will be an Oregonian. I’ve lived here for 23 years and come July, I have to move to South Dakota to take care of my parents. This will be my last Rose Festival and it breaks my heart to leave my home. I would sincerely be grateful for choosing to send me off with this gift of free tickets… Unfortunately I am unable to afford them otherwise. I hope thats worthy ;)

  74. Victoria Gantz May 16, 2013 at 4:58 pm #

I have not been to the Rose Fesival activities for years. I don’t think my husband has ever been to the activitiies on the Waterfront. It would be so fun to surprise him. We’re both on somewhat limited incomes, so we shop for cheap or free activities to do together.

  75. Aaron Levinson May 16, 2013 at 5:10 pm #

I would be the happier then a kid in a candy shop if you pick me :-)

  82. Jennifer May 16, 2013 at 5:27 pm #

I have a 9-year old daughter who’s never been to the Rose Festival, mostly because I can’t afford it. I’m on disability so we generally have money just for the basics. I, myself, haven’t been in about 20 years but have great childhood memories of all of it. Thanks for considering us!

  83. Kevin May 16, 2013 at 5:28 pm #

When I was in 3rd grade I won the Alpenrose Rose Festival Milk Carton Sailboat race at Westmoreland Park. This year I will win one of those carnival games.

  84. Cynthia Yoniak May 16, 2013 at 5:45 pm #

My family and I just moved to Portland on a whim 2 weeks ago and are looking forward to exploring and seeing what Portland has to offer. The Rose Festival would be a great place for us to start our exploration of the city, plus I personally adore fireworks, and the only way I can confince my frugle husband to take us is if it is paid for :-)

  85. Troy May 16, 2013 at 5:52 pm #

We have a 14-year-old and 12-year-old who would adore it…and the state fair rides can be too pricey. We are a Family of Four and are Thorns and Timbers fans too!

  86. Lori french May 16, 2013 at 5:59 pm #

Would love to surprise hubby with weekend at rose festival! !!

  87. Miranda T. May 16, 2013 at 6:08 pm #

I’d like to win these solely to walk through with an old mini-disc recorder, making field recordings of the fair. Yes, I will go on the rides… yes, I will try to coax sounds from animals.

  88. Sache May 16, 2013 at 6:09 pm #

This would be an awesome weekend. I’d love to go!

  89. Danielle May 16, 2013 at 6:21 pm #

I want to go because I’m 23 going on 5. The only way City Fair could be better? An ice cream contest and giant slide.

  95. James Perrone May 16, 2013 at 6:46 pm #

The family could use a great outing like this. Like many of those who answered, the costs are rising for events like this, and make it difficult to attend. I have 2 children (3 actually, but is only 6 months so he would be left with grandma) who would love to spend it with their parents at the Rose Festival!

I would love to win because I live in Corvallis and will be in Portland for the weekend with friends from Arizona. My husband and I plan to move to Portland in 2 years and would love to go to this festival and surprise our out of town friends with tickets too! My friend may even learn to get over her fear of fireworks :)

I’m new to Oregon and I’ve never been!

  110. Allie May 16, 2013 at 9:45 pm #

Look, I’m not even gonna tell you to pick me.

I’m just gonna plead with you not to pick some schmo that’s only been living here for two years and thinks he”s “soo Portland.”

Pick someone who used to go all the time before the hipster-inflation hit and made our traditions too expensive for the lifeblood citizens to attend.

    That is all.

Well everyone is hoping THEY win, and come up with the best PLEA. Can’t blame them the rose festival is a blast years ago I attended. It’s expensive. The last time i went my then girlfriend puked and I had to give her my sweater and drive us home. Let me win to create a better memory and also I don’t want to have to donate plasma or turn tricks just to ride the spider for godsake.

    Dear Pdxpipeline,

Ok, before I even start, I should just say, I’m doing this for my mom, she’s a single-parent who is pretty stressed out ever sence I got a concussion, and now she has her hands full and really needs a break from life. We both love portland and how everything here is, but as they say, flattery will get you nowhere. I seriously think she needs a break from life and to be frank, I’m fine if I dont even go but SHE needs a little time off. She is a great mother who has allways been there for me, she runs her own buisness on her own (artbymarla) and some of you have possibly even seen some of her prints, now she really needs a break after doing all this every day for the past 5 years or so, and If you gave us the tickets, I would do anyhting (within reason) to make my mother feel relaxed and happy to go to such an amazing event.

  134. Janell May 17, 2013 at 2:30 pm #

My 10 yr old daughter will be visiting from out of town for the summer. I’m trying to show her a great time here in portland. Our financial situation is not too great. Any tickets won off this site are considered a HUGE blessing! We’ll have our two daughters together (my husband and i) and going to the festival may be a bit costly for us. *Fingers Crossed!*

When I win an Oscar, which should be in the near future… I will include within my acceptance speech the following:

“…and to pdxpipeline, for choosing me as the winner of the tickets to the 2013 Rose Festival!”

    This I promise you!

  139. Scott May 17, 2013 at 9:31 pm #

I would be nice to win.

  140. Emily May 18, 2013 at 1:25 am #

I moved to this city 6 months ago from Michigan to be with my boyfriend of three years (cheesy, I know) and have fallen in love with what I have been able to experience of this city. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get out and see that much as I don’t know the area and have a lack of local comrades to help me learn. But! this festival is one that even I know about and would love the chance to experience it. Being a newbie is a bit overwhelming in this city of hidden gems and who wouldn’t want a little help getting started?

  141. Wyatt May 18, 2013 at 7:05 am #

PDX Pipeline! I wish I could skate it! COWABUNGA DUDES….I would like to take Girlfriend, Mother and Daughter to this Radish festival…. Radical!!! PDX Pipeline Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  142. Dylan May 18, 2013 at 2:36 pm #

I would love nothing more than to treat my fiance-to-be ;) to a special evening out after I pop the big question! I have scraped all the money I have to obtain the ring and make it as special as I can, but an evening downtown to top it all off would truly make it a once in a lifetime experience.

  143. Joshua Jabbour May 18, 2013 at 4:51 pm #

I’m new in town, so let’s all go to the fair!

  144. Patrick May 18, 2013 at 9:38 pm #

  149. yvonne May 21, 2013 at 7:17 pm #

I am a veteran and saw i could get free admission but i cant find my id and i cannot afford to drive to salem to replace it right now. These tix would be nice for me and my daughter.

  150. Cameron May 23, 2013 at 12:01 pm #

    I will be visiting with my 3 children (14, 11, and 5).
We saw this going on last year, but the admission and cost of entertainment put it out of reach for all of us to attend and have a good time.

Your prize takes care of that!
Hopefully, the drawing hasn’t taken place yet.

  151. Allison May 23, 2013 at 3:53 pm #

I would love to surprise my family with this! Due to work obligations, we haven’t had a weekend together in almost a year. We are however, all available this weekend and this would be PERFECT!

  152. Devra May 23, 2013 at 6:14 pm #

The Outlaws are visiting from England for the first time, and I would love to take them to lots of great Rose Festival events. It’ll help them understand why their boy is living in lovely Portland instead of foggy London.

  153. xea May 23, 2013 at 6:16 pm #

I haven’t been to this in so long.

  154. Ryan McGrady May 30, 2013 at 11:10 am #

Put me in the drawing, please! I have not been to the Rose Festival since I was a wee lad, and I want to take my GF but don’t have any money because I’m a broke college student.

  155. Tonya May 30, 2013 at 3:49 pm #

I would love to win to take my kiddos that are 2 and 4 for the very first time! I have very fond memories of thr Rose festival and would love to start the tradition with my kids!

  156. NiCoLe CaRTeR May 30, 2013 at 4:22 pm #

My husband and I have gone through the hardest time, especially this past week, all the way down to losing our power for the holiday weekend, and all our food going bad. We would never be able to take our kids who have never been to the rose festival unless we won tickets. It would really be an amazing surprise to be able to take ur kids to this wonderful, fun, and exciting event after what we have been through this month. I hope and pray for a break in the tense atmosphere around here with a little fun…please help our family with such a break and help us get to the fun fun weekend of the beautiful rose festival.
