I have been a fan of the Twins for years and I introduce as many of my friends as possible to their music. I would love to have this opportunity to show them off to more people. I also love bluegrass and discovering new music myself. I am interested in hearing The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience and maybe becoming fans of theirs, too!

  11. terryx December 11, 2012 at 11:24 am #

Every show needs an archivist to document the cultural supernova defined by the intersecting orbits of Laurie, Katelyn, Alberta Rose, and New Years Eve. I’m that archivist!

  12. Mark December 11, 2012 at 11:40 am #

I’d love to come and film it! Look at my work.

  13. Amanda December 11, 2012 at 11:46 am #

I’d love to win tickets to this. My husband and I just started a brewery with some friends and we’ve been working non-stop for months. I can’t imagine a better mini-vacation than NYE with Grisman in Portland. Great tunes along with all the great food and friends in the city.

  14. borden December 11, 2012 at 12:11 pm #

A generational melding of musical talent that should not be missed and though I grew up with Grismann and Garcia, Katelyn and Laurie offer up the best local music Portland has to offer! They offer simply phenomenal voicing and a humbly endearing presence.

  15. Rob December 11, 2012 at 12:42 pm #

Why I’d like to attend? It’d Grisman and the lovely Shook Twins on New Years at the Alberta Rose. What more reason could I need?

Because this is the last night I get to spend in my beloved Portland before I move to Idaho. I can’t imagine a better way to bring in the new year than with music I love and around people who appreciate it!

Its been a rough year, two 20-something “stay at home” sons looking for real jobs, college loan to pay, no job for mom since April, water heater broke yesterday, car transmission about to die…would really like to end this year and start the new one on an upbeat and hopeful musical note listening to some great performers.

Three words: Fiscal cliff screwed. This would be a great show to take my woman to. I’m on extended unemployment benefits and those are going away on December 29 for me and 2M other Americans. I’m moving into a friend’s basement. It will turn around, but these are dire times.

Give me the tickets! Let me act like a stud despite the fact that I’m enjoying this ride on Sh** creek. It would be a GREAT new years eve, and would probably start the TURN AROUND OF MY WHOLE LIFE!

  69. Chad December 21, 2012 at 1:08 pm #

I was lucky enough to see Jerry Garcia play 8 times before he passed away, but not lucky enough to see him play with David Grisman. In fact, I have never seen Grisman play before, and I would love to spend my NYE at the Alberta Rose Theatre since it’s 3 blocks from house and the music should be incredible! Thanks for your consideration.

I love David Grisman, love the Rose Theater, and would love to impress a wonderful girl with a great music experience this New Years. Kind of low on funds right now, but these tickets would make my New Years very bright!

  86. Erin hogan December 28, 2012 at 11:19 am #

I would love to win tickets to see David Grisman because its David Grisman!! I cannot afford to buy tickets unfortunately. I cannot think of a better way to being in the New Year than listening to some of the best bluegrass ever made! The last few years have been incredibly hard for my family and myself. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in the Fall 2010, after 13 years of misdiagnosises, and it has been a very long and painful recovery. I am not yet in remission, bu I am doing well enough to be able to celebrate the New Year, which I have t been able to do for the last few New Years’. This is why I would love to win some tickets to see this amazing show! Thank you for giving out tix, even if I am not one of the lucky ones. Happy New Years!!

  87. Emiliano December 28, 2012 at 2:29 pm #

Grisman in portland on NYE. Sounds awesome.

  88. Tami December 30, 2012 at 9:55 am #

Of all the events happening on NYE in Portland, this is by far my top choice. Alas,I am broke from holiday travels and gifts…I never have won any sort of drawing of raffle, but maybe this will be the one?
