  3. James Martin October 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm #

I have never really paid much attention to the pros and cons and fluoride in the water supply. This could be an entertaining and educational outing

  4. Al October 3, 2012 at 1:03 pm #

The city council’s decision to put fluoride in the water without taking it to a vote with the citizens just illustrates the corrupt nature of the so called government in this city. Anything that let’s it known we are not happy about having our voice snuffed is worth attending! It’ll be my birthday too!

Overload of awesome local music AND for a good cause! Seems like the “why” is in the “what.”

Trying to win free tickets to a fund raiser that will prolong the health of my children seems absolutely insane!

But I still want to win and I’ll buy a t shirt or beers when there;>)

A great event, for a great cause. We should at least be able to vote on what goes into our water system. I would love to attend this event.

  27. Harvey October 5, 2012 at 2:31 pm #

As a hydrology major I believe in being part of discussions about public drinking water, and I believe that it is important to know what you are putting in your body and how it affects you. Also rock on dandies?

  28. Doug Luckey October 5, 2012 at 8:21 pm #

I would like to attend to support this great cause, giving people the right to decide for themselves what goes in there bodies, and not being forced by government to drink unhealthy flouridated water. Even if this was not a benefit, still a great lineup of bands, many of which I haven’t seen. I want to go, am totally broke awaiting my unemployment. Please pick me!

  29. Sandy October 6, 2012 at 12:09 pm #

No matter how you feel about fluoride, it is insanity to pay to put expensive chemicals in our water that will end up in our toilets, showers, washing machines, car washes, irrigation systems, and other places where water is not consumed by children.

Children in preschools and public schools in Portland can get free fluoride tablets each day as well as subsidized dental care those in grave need. Kids outside the school system have access to free fluoride and dental care though many public agencies.

Most toothpastes have fluoride. There is no dearth of opportunities to ingest fluoride if you want it.

Also, there are people everywhere who need all manner of medications and treatments, but we don’t put those drugs in our water supply. How about chemicals that make you happy all the time. That would be in the public’s best interest, right? But we don’t do that. It’s not up to the government to drug us through our water supply.

This is an agenda driven by big business, nothing more. The citizens have a right to say which chemicals and drugs are added to the public water supply. Please show up and learn more about the precious water supply that Portland has, and why it should not be tainted by big business.

P.S. I will be attending with my family, but if I were to win the tickets, please give them to one of these folks who is having a hard time financially. It is important that you be there and that your opinion be represented. Thanks!
