Fans are in for an experience of a lifetime as Intel and MTV Iggy bring The Music Experiment concert series to Portland with Vagabond Opera, Y La Bamba and Aussie indie rock sensation, The Jezabels on October 8th.

The exclusive MTV filmed concert will set sail on a ship from Portland’s downtown waterfront. Festivities start at 7 p.m. Costume dress theme for the event is nautical steampunk. It’s a marriage made in indie rock heaven. Intel + MTV + Twitter = Music Experiment. And they’re descending on Portland October 8th.

The Jezabels—Australian indie rock sensation- are performing in a “secret” location. Fans will be able to unlock the secrets, including where to pick up tickets, by tweeting the hashtag #musicexperiment leading up to the concert, which takes place October 8 at 7:30pm. The buzz kicks off on Twitter TODAY!

And when we say “concert” we use that term loosely. This is more of a produced experience, including fans arriving in costume according to the hints given about the theme and the location.

The concert is part of the newly formed The Music Experiment—4 free, secret shows sponsored by Intel and MTV Iggy that are focused on seeing just how well social media and live music mix.

Tweet to unlock your exclusive invite to the show. Beginning Monday, September 24 music lovers will begin tweeting #musicexperiment, with each tweet zooming in on a map eventually revealing the destination in Portland where the tickets can be picked up on a first come, first serve basis. For all the program details, fans can visit www.musicexperiment.com/portland.
