I have to ask though, if the dinner is on the 24th, why is the drawing on the 25th?

    Let me count the ways….
    1. The picture alone
    2. The Chefs

    4. The menu
    5. Did someone say Free?
    6. Upright Beers paired with it all? Wow!

I can keep going if I need to….

  19. Kyle K May 16, 2012 at 12:51 pm #

Since the dinner is on the 24th and you’re announcing the winners on the 25th, I want to win this one for the free ride in the time machine that must be included, obviously.

Aside from that, we’re big fans of Upright’s farmhouse style ales and the Brasserie as well. We haven’t been back since they stopped the nightly jazz music, but I would love to see what they’re cooking up to pair with Upright’s beer.

    • PDXPIPELINE May 16, 2012 at 1:15 pm #

So this week my boyfriend’s cat, Maxwell, passed away after a 6 month battle with cancer. He had been a best friend, a loyal companion, a surprisingly smart food snatcher, and the best mouse and bug killer around. It’s been a heartbreaking week but I know that great Portland beer and food could revive his spirits. Thanks.

I could think of nothing better than being treated to my first ever beer and food pairing. Please give me the chance to truly learn the art of pairing fine food with the subtleties of fine beer, let me lean and laugh, smile and drink, spoil me with this once in a lifetime opportunity. I have worked so hard this year for a chance to take a break and treat myself, and now is that chance.

  123. Katie Penna May 18, 2012 at 2:42 pm #

I know that today is the day of the drawing and I hope I’m not too late. If I am I will just hop in my beer bottle time machine and try again yesterday.

I do not profess to know anything about upright brewing. That being said beer has shaped civilizations. It like bread and it is life. All beer is good to someone. Food is more than just sustenance to keep our bodies going. It feelings and memories, it brings friends and family together. It creates bonds between people who may not have had anything else in common. The kitchen is always to most popular gathering place at parties because that is where the beer and food are.

I want to win to have the ability to gather with my friends around a table forming a bond of shared experience. I would love for this night to be the catalyst that brings us all together.

i may be too late for this, altho i am hoping NOT! i would love to win tix to this event… I have a wonderful friend who I have not seen for months coming into town this week, and I’d love to do something different, pair some fine treats with drinks. I am a single mother of three children, one being special needs, AND i am a full-time student in my “forever 40” era. ;) This would mean a lot.

Beer and food pairings at Brasserie? Sounds line a blast. Free tickets please. Lift me up and away from my standard beer pairing of $1.00 tacos or corn nuts. I’ll be eternally grateful!

Being out of a job, I’d love to be able take my wife out to a real restaurant, and skip the ramen noodles. She deserves it.
