Robben Ford is one of the premier electric guitarists today, particularly known for his blues playing as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A five-time Grammy nominee, he has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles Davis, George Harrison, Phil Lesh, Bonnie Raitt, Claus Ogerman, Michael McDonald, Bob Dylan, John Mayall, Greg Allman and many others.

The Campbell Brothers present a compelling, rich variety of material from the African-American Holiness-Pentecostal repertoire with a new twist: the growling, wailing, shouting, singing and swinging voice of the steel guitar, played as you have never heard it played before.

I want to win the tickets for my boyfriends father. He loves robben ford and has been talking for the past few months about how badly he wants to see him. I can’t afford to buy him tickets, but he has done a lot for me and I’d really like to show my appreciation with a pair of tickets for him. It would make his day :)

I already know Robben Ford is an excellent musician who I would love to hear play in person, but I have to admit the phrase that particularly piqued my interest was: “played as you’ve never heard it played before,” in reference to the
Campbell Brothers’ super soulful steel guitar mastery. The Aladdin Venue is so cool and close to home, yet the music played there can transport you across the universe and back while some talented troubadour’s guitar gently weeps.

Have heard about this guy for years but never had the opportunity to see him live and in person. Huge guitar fan and love seeing shows at the Aladdin.
