Boogie Nights VIII will be moving to the Melody Ballroom to make room for more guests. The event has been held at the Lotus Cafe and Card Room for the last seven years and after reaching capacity the last three years the producers decided the time was right to move the event to a larger venue.
This year's theme is Heaven and Hell and the event will feature two very distinctly different levels, each with it's own entertainment, dance floor, bars and atmosphere. Rob Ward from ShoShot Productions is a co-producer of the event and likes the new space for several reasons, ¬Å“Moving to a larger location will allow us to offer more guests access to the event. The Melody Ballroom is perfect for the party because we'll be able create two distinct themes on the different levels and dance floors.¬Â
The entertainment includes 80's Invasion from Seattle and DJ Yaz on two huge dance floors. Guests will also be selected for a costume contest with prizes being awarded for best, sexiest and funniest costumes. Prizes include tickets to the 21st Annual Champagne Ball, held New Year's Eve at the Hilton Portland.
A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Children's Relief Nursery and guests are asked to support ¬Å“Diaper Aid 2011¬Â. The goal of Diaper Aid 2011 is to collect 5,000 diapers sizes 4, 5 and 6 for the infants that are helped by the Children's Relief Nursery. Guests can bring diapers that night or make a donation when they purchase their tickets.
