Every year Seattle guitarist Ari Joshua (Big High) brings together a cast of musicians to celebrate the life and music of the legendary Jimi Hendrix.  It's a raging show with Seattle musicians celebrating Jimi's life through his earth changing & soul shaking music.

This year Ari is bringing the band to The Goodfoot Lounge in Portland. Past featured artists have included: The Leon Hendrix Mysterience (that's Jimi's Blood Brother), Sammy Drain (Jimi's childhood jam buddy), Joe Doria (McTuff), Jabril, Shawn Smith of Brad, Brandon Storms, Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees and more. This year's line up (additional PDX guests being added now) is working on both classic Jimi hits and versions of the rarest songs from his genius career.

Celebrate one of the world's great guitar players with a collection of Seattle and Portland's finest talent!!!!

It’s my BIRTHDAY!! Yup, Saturday is the big 2-7 and I love to celebrate my bday every year with some awesome live music. I hadn’t seen any shows I was excited about until NOW! My boyfriend and I visited the Experience Music Project this summer and fell even deeper in love with the life and music of Mr. Hendrix. We would be so jazzed to celebrate my birthday at the goodfoot!

What would J.H. be creating if he were still alive today? Will the artists be extrapolating and expanding on these musical ideas.. I would love to hear / experience it!

This would make a great add on to my father’s visit to Portland this weekend. He is and always will be a life long Hendrix fan. My father taught me to appreciate every type of musical genre, ever since hearing “Are You Experienced” at the age of 10, I’ve loved his music. I even danced to ” May This Be Love ” at my wedding. :)
