Trimet sent out the message below just a bit ago. I think the message is…STAY AWAY from the Portland Rose Quarter if you don't want to get caught in a mess. Have fun.

This afternoon and evening, expect delays on MAX (system-wide) and on buses (in the Rose Quarter/Convention Center area) due to President Obama's visit. MAX will not serve the Convention Center station during the event. For security reasons, we do not have additional details about service impacts at this time.

Doors open at 4 PM.
This event is free and open to the public. RSVPs do not guarantee entrance, and we recommend arriving early.
There will be street closures on the day of the event, and parking may be very difficult. We highly recommend taking public transportation to get there (get public transportation directions from Google Maps or TriMet).
Be prepared for airport-like security. Do not bring umbrellas, pocket knives, signs or banners. Bags are not permitted unless necessary for medical needs. No food and beverage permitted inside the premise (unless for medical needs). No metal or glass containers allowed inside.
Cameras/cell phones are permitted.
