Saturday: Kenton Street Fair | 70+ Vendors, 3 Stages

Another weekend in Portland and another street party. This weekend is in Kenton. Their website is a bit low on the details, but they have been reproduced below. The obvious info is that between 10 and 6 on Saturday, there will be a street party and probably a couple thousand people out there.

Kenton Street Fair, Portland, Oregon

With only a few months to plan, and on a shoestring of a budget, the Kenton Business Association and Neighborhood Association have finished the planning phase of the First Annual Kenton Street Fair!

Currently we have over 70 vendors confirmed, three stages fully booked for the day, a coaster car exhibition, a car and bike show, and a variety of games and activities for folks of all ages!  With the support of neighbors, businesses and artists, we have secured some incredible performers who have offered to help our new event become something special simply because they care to help.  We’re excited to welcome The Lions of Batucada, Sarah Moon & The Night Sky, Mr. Ben and so many more as they entertain us throughout the day and keep the energy up for this special day.

Kids will have plenty to do too.  With an entire tent dedicated to children’s activities, a puppet show, the Winterhawks hockey team will be bringing their slapshot game, and hopefully with the support of Wells Fargo, we will be able to secure bumper cars! This is all pending being able to use their parking lot for the entire day and not just after they close at 2pm.

And finally, don’t forget to check out the coaster car exhibition at 10am! While it’s small this year, we’re hoping in the future for this event to become a practice run for those cars going to Mt. Tabor… spread the word.  And right near the start line you will see a full block of amazing vehicles thanks to Mackins Autobody hosting the first Mackins Car & Bike Show (all proceeds from the car and bike show go to JDRF).

It should be a day of great fun, and we hope to see you there!  Tell your friends!

The Kenton Street Fair will be held May 22, 2010, 10am to 6pm in the heart of the downtown Kenton commercial district on N. Denver Avenue between N. Watts & N. Willis.

Pick up Street Fair information at Posies Cafe, 8208 N. Denver Avenue, 97217 OR complete the online application here.

The street fair is Sunday May 22nd, not “saturday” – as far as the bands, food, drinks, etc goes.

This post is from 2010, not 2011. There is a large link up top for the 2011 info.
