If you haven't heard of Dredg, an awesome alt-rock/progressive/experimental band whose birthplace is just 675 miles south of Portland, then you are in luck. Four years after the release of their album Catch Without Arms, they are traveling across North America to promote the release of their much-anticipated new record, The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion.
The word on the street is that eager fans who venture to see them play at the Hawthorne Theatre Friday night can expect to hear songs old and new, hard and soft, energetic and relaxing, all of which will fuse together to create a supernova of melodic aural ecstasy.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. For a mere $20 after service charge, you will be treated to the full spectrum of metal, post-rock, experimental, progressive and politically- and spiritually-charged genius, including opening bands Torche and From Monuments to Masses.
